ANNOUNCEMENTS
Grand Knight's Corner
Its game time!
Kids are back in
school, football
season has kicked
off, Fall is just
around the corner.
After a summer
break, its good to
feel cooler
temperatures. It's
good to be getting ready for the Fall season. We
in the United States are blessed with this kind of
life and opportunity. However, in many parts of
the world, because of daily struggles, there is
more unrest and no opportunity to look forward
to a new season. God provides us with a solid
base from which we can help the less fortunate
of the world.
Supreme Knight Carl Anderson has
announced that the Knights will give $1 million
dollars to the war ravaged people in the Middle
East. He has also partnered the Knights with the
Gary Sinise Foundation (remember Captain Dan
in the Forest Gump Movie?) which helps

CHARITIES
On August 26th, I
presented a check to
Mary's Shelter in rural
Elberta, Al. Glenda
Messina, the
Administrator, was very
pleased as you can tell
from the picture. Mary's
Shelter Gulf Coast provides family style living
while educating women in the life skills needed
to become independent and contributing
wounded warriors and first responders. There
are new programs and initiatives, either started
or in the works, which, along with Council 7402
projects, makes things seem overwhelming at
times. But, think of the horrendous situations
some of our less fortunate brothers and sisters
are in. This unfortunate state of affairs
automatically pushes us into a big brother status.
Can we do this on our own? Absolutely not.
Can we do it with Gods help and guidance?
Absolutely. This is a very unstable time for the
world as a whole and there may be more to
come. The evil one is running amuck in the
world.
We were made aware, at our August meeting,
that many mens fraternal organizations
memberships are dwindling to the point of
closing some of the halls/meeting places, i.e.
Moose, Elks, Shiners, and VFWs and American
Legions, to name the ones I remember. This is a
time when the Knights membership is growing at
a fantastic pace, including our Council. What an
indication God is with us, helping us, guiding us
and protecting us!
Remember Brothers, our most powerful
weapon is prayer. Lets pray for peace in the
Middle East, Russia, and the world. As more
details emerge from Supreme Headquarters
concerning their initiatives, we will let you know.
Access the Supreme website to get hot off the
press info and tune in to EWTN or any Catholic
news TV/RADIO station for the latest updates.
Brothers, the Knights are needed more than
ever. We will stand strong in faith, unity and
fraternity to help, assist, and support our families,
our Church, our community and beyond.
Vivat Jesus!

For the Good of the Order
Andy Bonifay says,
"Brother Norm has
asked me to speak a
little about the Good of
the Order. And tonight I
want to talk about
Good News, Do you
want to hear some
good news? If you do then lets as brother
Knights make some Good News. So how do we
make some Good news in this day and time
when there are so many challenges that we face
each day? We can start by putting aside our
personal agendas our pride and pray for Divine
inspiration plus the motivation and zeal to do
Gods will in our Daily lives. What makes Good
News?

Family of the Month - August 2014 A
Over the years, we
have a family who has
served and helped in
many capacities in our
two church
communities. Various
members of this family
have served in the Knights of Columbus, served
in most, if not all of the church ministries, from
choir to Eucharistic Ministers, Sacristans,
Religious Ed teachers, Lectors, and
Greeter/Usher Ministries, to name a few.
