You sure can tell this is Thanksgiving month - with Fall in the air. Look at all the events and festivals going on this time of year: Christmas Raffle ticket sales in full swing, football, cooler temperatures, falling leaves, grass not growing as much and not as quickly, friends and family get-togethers and more. Theres a feeling of happiness creating a festive atmosphere of joyful

anticipation for the Holidays. God is Good. He gives us bountiful blessings for which we are thankful. Lets remember to share these blessings with the less fortunate, such as, the families who have suffered losses through sickness, disability, death, divorce, abortion, unemployment, and any number of things. We remember them in our prayers and through our volunteering and charitable works. Hey, wait a minute, we are Knights of Columbus - thats what we do! Maybe not perfectly, but we try. Can we do more? Of course we can. The question is, how can we persuade our Catholic brothers to grab on to the same opportunity to devote time and talent for Gods glory like we do by being Knights? October Family of the Month Award goes to Jay and Karen Gallacher. Jay is the past Grand Knight and currently serves as three year trustee, he is on the joint parish council finance committee and is past president of the St. Elizabeth Parish Council. Jay is also involved in various ministries at St. Elizabeth's as is his wife Karen. Jay also teaches middle school which alone puts him in the running for Sainthood. Karen is active on various church committees and also leads the way for the women's retreats. What's Pope Francis Up to Now? The Holy Father continues to grant interviews - even with atheist journalists...
