EARTHQUAKE IN KEFALONIA (1953)

In 1953 a big series of earthquakes happened in Kefalonia.

These big earthquakes destroyed more than 28!!! houses and
killed 8"1 people. #any of the sur$i$ors that lost their houses
left the island and %ent to li$e in another pla&e. To rebuild the
&ity the 'reek state used the foreign &ountries( help. The
sur$i$ors said in a report that they %ould ne$er forget this
e)perien&e.
