Title:

Evaluation of index properties of soil in Nizwa area

Description:
Evaluation of index properties deals with the determination of these properties for different soils
from various locations of Nizwa area.
Objectives:
To find out the index properties of soil ( Atterbeg limits), specific gravit of soil solid, natural
water content, natural unit weight, and the compaction characteristics of soils collected from
different locations of Nizwa area.
Project Significance:
!nowing the index properties of soil is the first main re"uirement to classif the soils and select
the proper site for construction. #n addition an index propert is an important characteristic for
selection of foundation tpe.
Methodology:
$. %our to five locations will be selected covering most of the Nizwa area
