Speaking and listening are skills in Language Arts that are

used the most in the real world. Every person is required
to ommuniate in pu!li at some point in his/her li"e.
#.$.S.%. &#otally $n!elieva!le Speaking %lu!' provides your hild with
an opportunity to learn how to speak on(dently. Learning spei(
speaking skills, o!serving other speakers, planning, researhing, and
pratiing how to speak in a pu!li setting are integral piees o" the
learning proess. #his program has had a huge impat in developing
on(dene and sel")esteem in students !y having them omplete short
presentations on topis they are "amiliar with, in a sa"e learning
environment.
*e will have our #.$.S.%. meetings every week (Day 4 Periods 5 & 6).
Some tasks are very short and others require a little more work, + have
tried to spread the workload out so that students will have smaller
tasks in !etween the larger ones. Presentations "or short tasks may !e
under one minute long and longer tasks should not e,eed - minutes.
.eep in mind that there will !e several presenters so a presentation
!etween /)0 minutes would !e ideal. +" your hild does not have
aess to a omputer "or the tasks that require researh, please let me
know so + an give them time to use a omputer at shool.
As the program progresses throughout the year, please talk to your
