As ! am waiting for the students to unpac# their belongings& ! would have everything set up and ready to go. "irst ! would start the
conversation by as#ing what their favorite foods are. Then ! would as# what atin American foods they have had. This would be a perfect
introduction to their pro+ect that they will be doing over the ne't couple of wee#s. ! will tell them that they will be ma#ing a video which
will be all in Spanish along with a video that they will be ma#ing with two other classmates showing the process of them ma#ing the
meal. ,oth the written menu and the video will be fully in Spanish. ! would also li#e a brief paragraph about the origins of the dish- in
Spanish. They will not only be graded on the written and oral use and comprehension of the language& but their use of the technology.
The video must be clear and about (-. minutes. There must be at least ( special efects and one transition at least. ! believe that this
lesson is essential to their lives because both Spanish and Technology are everywhere in today/s world. !t is estimated that by )0)0 there
will be more Spanish spea#ers than *nglish. Also& this gives them a chance to discover diferent foods that they may have never #nown
about before. !f they ever go into a Spanish restaurant they will #now what to order and what to say to the waitress/er. The day of
presentations we will have a party and each student is encouraged to bring in the meal that they wor#ed on as a group. 1hen the
students hand in their step by step recipes& ! will put them in a binder and this will be the 2menu/.

rubric would be given bac# to them that would evaluate their use of the language 9 both written
and oral as well as their use of the technology. :ne of our class trips in the future would be to a
Spanish restaurant where they would get to put their past lesson to use. My hope is that the
students won/t be rolling their eyes and mumbling under their breath ;1hy do ! have to learn this7 !
will never use this in my personal life<= ! hope that they would en+oy this pro+ect and open their
minds to diferent cultures and e'plore diferent restaurants when they go out to eat.
