Homework is something that I believe shouldnt not be given every single day because homework is a misconceived idea that by doing more and more homework, the student will learn more. We as a class will have two assignments every week and these assignments will challenge the students. Projects, pop quizzes and Chapter test are a form of summative assessment, which will show me what your students have learned. After these summative assessments, I will then gain more knowledge on how I will be able to support your students and give them what they need to be successful. Participation is given to students to make sure that I as a teacher know that the student is doing their work, or paying attention. 25 points is given to students who have perfect attendance. Students who miss one day will receive a half of a point taken off. Three Chapter test are given not only to see what the students know but also, to see what they need to be retaught. You can see in the task above that grades are given to students for covering books and bringing a calculate, I believe that this is what Marzano talks about when he says Grades are so imprecise that they are almost meaningless. (Marzano, p.1). Students receive grades for these tasks when there is no reason to grade them because these are no academic tasks.

My tasks on this table are more of an on going (Formative assessment) table. Students have been provided more Formative assessment task so that we will be able to see what the students have learned and what the students need help with. As you can see that homework is only given 2 times a week because the homework that will be sent home with students will be challenging and students will not need to bring homework home every night. The viewing guide that is placed at the bottom of the table is actually one of the firsts things that should be done, because it will show you if a student is a visual learner. Students who dont have the sheet filled out properly will give you and idea on how to teach them. The project about time is a form of summative assessment that will show me as a teacher that the students understand how to tell and read time.
