The document provides guidance for students in a chemistry course for the pre-activity week. It recommends that students (1) work on question 11 in chapter 3 or watch a problem solving video if they are still having difficulty calculating net charges on peptides. It also suggests that students (2) review sections 3 and 4 of chapter 3 on proteins. Additionally, (3) students should work on homework problems posted on the course site and be prepared to submit their answers in class the following week. There are also additional online resources on the course site to help students learn about topics like gel electrophoresis and chromatography.

1) If you are still having difficulty calculating the net charge on a peptide, I suggest you work question#11 at the back of chapter 3 and/or watch the problem solving video posted on our moodle page for this question.
2) Review chapter 3 section 3 that is titled Working with proteins and section 4 that discusses the primary structure of proteins.
3) Work on the problems posted on our moodle page titled HW#2 for chapter 3 problems. You very well may be asked to turn in your answers to this homework assignment on Wednesday next week. Bring any questions you have to class!!
4) There are many, many resources linked on our moodle page for Chap. 3 that may help you. Watch the gel electrophoresis animation. Watch the chromatography videos- gel filtration, ion exchange and affinity Also, our book has a problem solving video for chapter 3 problem #10 (I titled this video gel filtration and electrophoresis) and problem #15 (Enzyme purification Table).
