A. How do the two systems of Democracy differ as far as branches of government are concerned?

The two systems are fairly similar. The Parliament and House of Commons are usually compared to
Congress of the US which consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate. But these two can
differ. For example, in the parliament the British Prime Minister interacts more with the parliament. As
for the president of the United States he doesnt interact as much with the Congress though suggested
he should.
B. Regarding elections, how do the systems compare?
In the parliament elections are made by the legislature. In the democracy for the US the election is
made by the people of the country. In the parliament system it brings more discipline to the table while
many disputes occur over in the US of who is elected. Though both systems are the most popular, they
still differ in elections.
C. Do their leaders share similar terms in office? Explain in complete sentence format.
In the US the President can serve up to two terms of four years. So if re-elected, the President of the
United States can serve up to eight years. As for the Prime Minister, they can share up to 5 years and
thats it. So both leaders share fairly similar terms in office.
D. What are the "advantages" of each system of government? [at least two each]
For the US democracy it gives the people of the nation a chance to voice their opinion on who is elected.
To continue, the US democracy shares powers to all three branches. The Judicial, Executive, and the
Legislative. As for the Parliament, elections are more of a majority so not many disputes are created
over who is elected Prime Minister. In this system also there is more interaction with the Minister and
House of Commons which leads to better collaboration for the system.
E. Identify a disadvantage" of each system.
There a couple disadvantages for both systems. For example, the Presidential disadvantage is if there is
a strong dislike for the person in power you cant get him out until after the term is done. A
disadvantage for the Parliament is if you dont like the Prime Minister, he or she could be in power for a
while since there is no fixed term. That is one disadvantage for both systems.
