From the 3rd Grade Class of

Mrs. Vietti
for the Week of September 29 October 3, 2013
A Note From Mrs. Vietti:
I just love the month of October! I love the
beautiful fall weather, especially the beautiful colors that
come out. I love the fun holiday things that we start
doing. Mostly I love bing in school with great kids and
great things to do! :!
I was so proud of all the kids in our class who
participated in the "eflections program. #he principal
told us that the number of participants from last year
doubled this year. #here were $% entries last &riday
alone! 'o (onderful! #hanks for supporting the ).#.*.
and helping your child take part of this great program!
Our third grade program will be Tuesday
October 28th. (e will be having two different
programs+ one for the school at ,:- a.m. and one for
parents at .: p.m. Of course, you may attend either
program, but the morning one will be filled with students
and teachers. /ou wont want to miss this wonderful
0alloween fashion show. (e need a couple of things
for our program. (e1d like to have students play some
prelude type songs before our program begins. If your
child plays the piano and has learned a 0alloween song
I1d love to have him2her come play for me so we can
add him2her to the beginning of the program. *lso, I1d
like to get an idea of what your child is going to wear for
0alloween. If you could talk over what costume your
child is going to wear I1d really appreciate it. #here are
a few certain costumes we need like cats, pirates,
pumpkins, witches and princesses. 3ut we can
encorporate most any costume into the program. I just
need to know e4actly what costumes to plan on.
I added up all of the reading minutes that were
sent in on &riday. (e have three super readers who
have reached the first milestone of $ hours. Mia,
5hase and )ayton are these first great readers. I know
that there are many more readers who are close to
getting to the $6hour mark! (hen each student
reaches $ hours of reading 7s!he gets a little chain to
put on a backpack along with a plastic book charm.
#hen we add more charms as each new milestone is
achieved. #hat is why it is so important that you mark
down the reading minutes each week for your child!
Make sure they are in the planner on &ridays.
October is going to be a busy month!
