character of the short story is Anna.

out that her boss is acting strangely because of her perfume.
Anna is also a dignified person. Anna quits her job when David Amos offers her a raise as
compensation for his actions instead of accepting the raise and carry on with her work.

find most interesting is Armstrong.

dislike most is David Amos.

David Amos is also superficial. He only dates young beautiful models like Sabina and does not
even look at simple looking girls like Anna when he is his true self.
In addition, David Amos is also shameless and aggressive. He and the waiter got into a fight
over Anna in the French restaurant.

lesson that Ive learnt from this short story is that we must be determined to get
what we want.
This is shown by Armstrong who is determined and worked heart so that he can own
a pizza company and finally feel worthy to be with Anna.
We could also see this lesson in Anna who is a determined girl who is one of the best
chemist in her company. She is also determined in finding the secret of the fruitcake
until she found out that the old lady who baked the fruitcake has passed away.

ii. The short story that I have studied is The Fruitcake Special by Frank Brennan. A
lesson that Ive learnt from this short story is that we must not compromise our
dignity.
This lesson is shown by Anna. Anna has integrity and has pride in her own worth.
She walked out of her job when she was insulted with the boss offer.
