Dear CMS Parents, Family Members, and Friends:

Were off to a wonderful start to the 2014 school year at Centennial Middle School! Something very
exciting is happening at CMS and we wanted to share the news. and ask for your help.

CMS has a newly renovated Parent Teacher Association (PTA)! Weve been hard at work over the
summer and early this fall, talking with staff and other organizations to spotlight areas of need within
our school and community, and how to address those needs.

Of course, one of the ways in which we can address those needs is through fundraising. Dont stop
reading yet!!! We are NOT selling anything.nope, nothing! We arent asking YOU or your children to
go out and sell anythingno magazines, no gift wrap, no cookie dough, no pizzas, no bread. Nothing.

What we are asking of you is to take a moment, and read on to find out what the CMS Activities
Department has been offering to your child(ren) and then make a donation. Did you know that this fall
alone, the CMS Activities Department has offered 6 Interscholastic/Intramural activities, 26 different
clubs, 2 special events, and 6 off campus activities? Did you know that the CMS Activities Dept. helps
defray or covers completely, the cost of transportation for various field trips; gives funds to each team
to help with grade level events, and student rewards; sponsors Time Out Day, which allows each
student to try an activity at a reduced cost, that they may not have access to otherwise. The Activities
Department also provides scholarships and yearbooks to those who are in need.

The needs of the students are becoming far greater than the meager budget given to the Activities
Department. The CMS PTA would like to help raise funds through our COUGAR FUND DRIVE to offer
financial support to the fantastic and essential team activities, scholarships, and after school offerings
the Activities Department provides. With your help, we could fully support the programming our
children and staff rely on, and possibly fund some future teacher requests, if we reached our goal of
$33,000.

Your donation is 100% tax deductible. The full amount of your donation will go directly to the PTA,
for the needs mentioned above. There are two easy ways you can donate: fill out the attached form
with a cash or check donation, or go to our new PTA website

Proverb, Many hands make light work is so fittingif every family donated $28.00, wed reach our
goal! We are sensitive to the fact that every familys budget looks different. All donations, in any
amount are greatly appreciated. We encourage you to share this letter with supportive family and
friends.

Being able to continue to offer high quality activities and essential team events is so important!
