Background

In collaboration of the Central Electricity Board of Mauritius, MCTP will be working on a 2 x 55 MW coal fired power project
that will be located at Pointe-aux-Caves in the district of Black River of Albion where the corporate office will be also.
The Companys core business is coal beneficiation and power generation. The Project comprises of design, engineering,
procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, testing operations and maintenance of the 2 x 55 MW (Nominal
capacity) coal fired electricity generation facility. It shall be owned and operated by the project proponent MCTP (Mauritius
C.T. Power Ltd).
Machines
The whole system will consist of internal transporting, coal storage, screening and crushing. Fuel for the power plant will be
bituminous coal sourced from South Africa Richards Bay, the same coal that is currently being used by other IPPs in
Mauritius. The unloading system will unload the coal to conveyor belts and then transport it to the coal yard for storage.
When the coal will be supplied, it will be reclaimed from the power plant coal yard and transferred to the boiler bunkers via
conveyor belts, the coal crusher and the magnetic separators. Capacity of the power plant coal storage yard should be for
60 days coal consumption for two units
