2. Truelove-Witts' scoring system for acute severe colitis
A patient is defined as having acute severe colitis if they have more than six b
owel motions a day associated with one of the following:
* Temperature >37.8C
* Pulse >90 bpm
* Hemoglobin <105 g/L or
* An ESR >30
3. Blauth's classification
* I Minor hypoplasia of bone and soft tissue
* II Good bone and joints
* Major soft tissue hypoplasia, adducted, metacarpal, unstable MPJ and absent mu
scles
* III Poor bone, joints and soft tissue
* Stable CMC joint
* Unstable CMC joint
* IV Floating thumb
* V Total absence
4. Nottingham prognostic index
The index is calculated using the formula:
NPI = [0.2 x S] + N + G
Where:
* Sis the size of the index lesion in centimetres
* Nis the number of lymph nodes involved: 0 =1, 1-3 = 2, >3 = 3
* Gis the grade of tumour: Grade I =1, Grade II =2, Grade III =3
* Interpretation
Score 5-year survival >/=2.0 to </=2.4 93% >2.4 to </=3.4 85% >3.4 to </=5.4 70% >5.4 50%
