Strategy Name: Make Prediction Strategy #6

1. Brief Description (in your own words):

a. Make prediction is meant to be used in the beginning of a text or the middle
when you pause or take a break (next chapter). As a reader you can use it in the
beginning of any text and make a prediction about what the text is going to be
about. It also can be used in the pause in the story or when the teacher tells the
students to take a break from reading. During the break the students can predict
what might happen next in the story or text.
2. How you plan to use this strategy in your Practicum, Internship, Student Teaching, or in
Your own classroom
a. This strategy can be used in any content area but can be kind of hard to use as a
physical educator. One way I think that making prediction strategy can be used
is when I ask students to predict the objectives of the lesson at hand. This will
allow the students interactive with each other. Also, I can send the kids home with
an article. The students will read the title and make a prediction on what they
think it will be about. Then they will go home and read it to see if they are correct
on their prediction.
