Image Creation:

For my image creation project I used piZap Photo editor and VoiceThread to put it all
together. I pulled all of my images form Google Images, but I used the advanced image search
setting to make sure that I had pictures that were user-friendly and under the creative
commons copyright legislation. I decided to create a presentation on Story Elements because
that is one of the standards covered in the first nine weeks and my students struggle with
explaining in detail the major points and parts of a story.
The first image I chose was a sad little boy. This picture is supposed to help my students
to use what they know and see to determine the character trait that the main character has at
that moment and explain with detail why he or she feels that way. The next photo is from the
story The Wizard of Oz and it is a snippet of when Dorothy and the gang meet the cowardly
lion. I liked this image because it really doesnt give way to just one straightforward answer to
what the problem is. The students have to connect the evidence (what they see) to what they
know to give an inference about the situation in the picture. Finally, the last three pictures not
only deal with the students knowing how to determine the beginning, middle, and end of a
story, but they also are tying in writing as well. They are asked to recall what they know about
the story and change only two parts. This will help them be very creative and identify the
importance of a good beginning and ending of a story. All in all, I really enjoyed this project, all
the interesting programs, and apps to use in my class so far.
