My father is an avid birdwatcher. Recently, he convinced me to join
him in a bird race. In the past, my father has entered this annual
event by myself or with his friends. Participants of the race had to
identifies all the bird species found in the specified area. Before the
event began, an arbitrator of the race sharing some tips with the
participants. Then, armed with a few of binoculars, a handy
guidebook or a sheet of paper to write down the names of the birds,
my father and I navigated our way into the jungle. Each type of bird
had a different habitat but we were able to identify some of the birds
based on where we found them. Her father's knowledge on birds
also helped him to identify some birds based on its sounds. After
several hours, the race ended. We may not have spotted enough
species to win but we had a good time.
