Gatsby Poem
In my poem, I talk about many different parts of The Great Gatsby. This book
has many symbols and themes, some of which are included in the poem and some
which are not included in the poem. The green light, the glasses of T.J Eckleburg,
and the color yellow are very important in The Great Gatsby and are considered some
of the most well-known symbols in American literature. The Roaring Twenties, the
American Dream, and the economy are important themes in The Great Gatsby. The
book takes place in the Twenties and provides much social commentary for the
decade, like on prohibition and the stock market. The American Dream is what
Gatsby wants to achieve. The economy and how it relates to class is very significant
in how the characters interact with each other during the book, as well as the places
they live, like The Valley of Ashes or East Egg. This book was very important to
American literature and had a lot of symbols and themes throughout its pages.
