Hamburg Steak
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 onion
1 egg
1/4 c milk
1 c bread crumbs
Pepper to taste
Olive oil, for frying
3 Tbsp ketchup
3 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
Serves 4

Directions
1. Chop onion finely. Heat oil in a frying pan and saut chopped onion until well
done. Set aside.
2. Combine egg and milk in a medium bowl, mixing well. Lightly mix in
breadcrumbs. Set aside.
3. Put ground beef in another bowl. Add cooked onion and breadcrumb mixture,
and then season with salt and pepper. By hand, mix ingredients completely.
4. Divide the mixture into four balls and toss each ball from one hand to the other
repeatedly. Make balls into hamburg patties and indent the center of each one
with a finger.
5. Heat oil in a frying pan. Add patties and saut over medium heat.
6. Turn over and saut the other side. Add 1/4 cup of hot water to the pan, cover
and steam steaks for a few minutes.
7. Remove the lid and cook until the water is gone. Transfer hamburgers to
individual plates.
8. After the steaks are removed, add ketchup and Worcestershire sauce to the
frying pan. Mix quickly over low heat to make a sauce. Pour over the steaks.
