LAHORE: Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that the government was serving
the people from the day one and it would rid the country of the scourge of rising prices and
electricity loadshedding.

Talking to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif at Raiwind on Sunday, he said those who
wished to fish in the troubled waters and do politics of division and disturbances would get
nothing but face utter failure. We will ensure that democracy and parliament are safeguarded in
the country.

He said that some people cannot digest the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and are trying to
destabilise the country through the Dharnas. The nation, he said, was fully alive to the situation
and would never let their evil designs succeed.

He said the mission of the provincial and federal governments of the PML-N was to serve the
country and the nation. Early rehabilitation of the flood-affected people was becoming possible
with the timely steps being taken by the Punjab government, he said.

The situation arising out of the Dharnas of Awami Tehreek and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, steps
being taken for the help of the flood-affected people and some other issues also came under
discussion.

Mian Shahbaz Sharif briefed the prime minister on the packages given by the Punjab government
to the flood-affected people and other steps being taken for their welfare. Expressing full
confidence and satisfaction over the packages and the steps being taken by the Punjab
government, the prime minister said that those affected by the floods were our brethren and we
would not let them alone.
