A Story Of Pari Temple

A long time ago, an old man lived in Penanggungan Mountain. His name
was Kiai Gede Penanggungan. He had a supernatural powers. He also had a
daughter named Dewi Walangangin. She wasnt married yet. Thats why Kiai Gede
Penanggungan always pray for his daughter.
Kiai : Oh god. I really want my daughter to be happy.Please sent me a good
man for my daughter.
Finally, God answered his prayer. A young handsome man came to his
place.
Jaka : Excuse me. My name is Jaka Pandalegan. I came here because I want
tobe your student. I want to learn a lot of things from you.
Kiai : I will take you as my student but you have to marry my daughter.
Agree?
Jaka : Hmmm.., Yes, I agree. I will marry your daughter.
Both Dewi and Jaka lived a happy marriage. Kiai Gede Penanggungan taugh
Jaka many things. After several years living with Kiai Gede Penanggungan,now it
was time for the couple to leave him and found a new life as husband and wife.
Kiai : I know you cant live with me forever. Before you go, take this seed of
pari. Everytime people ask you, give them some. Dont be arrogant when you are
rich.

After that, couple left him and bought pari seed. Then, in the new place,
the plant the seed.
Jaka : Letd we plant the seed
Soon, grew a lot of rice. Now the people became very rich. The poor
neighbours came to the couple and ask for some pari seed.
Poor : Please give me some pari seed
Neighbour
Jaka : No way! If you want to eat you have to work hard like
me!
Poor : Please sir. Give me some
Neighbour
Dewi : No! Go away here
Kiai Gede Penanggungan heard his bad behaviours. So, hedecided to visit
him.
Kiai : Jaka Pandelegan, come here! I want to talk to you. Why you dont
keep your promise?
(He ignored him. He kept doing his activity)
Kiai : My daughter, Dewi. Its me your father.
(Dewi also ignored him)
Kiai : I am angry now! You two are like temples. You cannot listen to me.
Right after he said those words, an incredible thing happened.
Slowly, Jaka and Dewi turned into temples.
Jaka : Oh noo! MY body
Dewi : Noo.. Father Im sorry
Because of the temples stood among the pari, people then named
them as pari temples.
