reflects the higher costs incurred as a result of increased business
levels that include additional sales and service personnel and higher
variable compensation. Additional epenses incurred to support the
growth initiatives of the Bank :including network epansion as well

operating epenses"
As a conscious strateg' of building an organic growth engine during
the 'ear$ the Bank continued to epand it s dist ri butio n net work $
in both domesti c and overs ea s geogra phie s$ to enlarge its
reach and accelerate its business momentum. /he Bank has
developed a branch network which is built on customer1convenience
and service$ helping it particularl' in the acquisition of low1cost
retail deposits$ retail assets$ lending to agriculture$ S(- and mid1
corporates and facilitating the cross1selling of third1part' products.
