I have practiced giving more explicit, step-by-step instructions appropriate to first graders
What feedback related to this goal or challenge have you been given by your Collaborating Teacher and University Supervisor?
My CT has given me advise on slowing down my direction giving time and giving more laid out directions. What are your next steps? Include an explanation of a timeline for taking those steps. If your goal or challenge has been met, this may include a new goal or challenge.
My next step will be to take more time in lesson planning to write down the verbal directions I will give my students at the beginning of an activity. I have also made it a point to incorporate a poster with direction giving strategies for myself into my future classroom. I will have to work on this skill will have to be able to modify it to any grade level that I might teach. In what ways have you collaborated with your teacher to reach this goal or challenge?
She has co-taught with me in multiple lessons and expanded upon my directions in ways that first grade can understand more
In what ways have you taken that feedback into consideration?
I have really put more effort into adding more directions into lesson plans so that I can pre- plan exactly what Im going to say to the students, and dont miss any steps
What evidence do you have that supports your process of meeting this goal or challenge?
In the past few lessons I have taught, I have been able to run multi- stepped lessons fluidly with very little issues in direction misunderstandings.
