Theundersigned isdirectedtorefer toRule38-Aof CCS(leave)
Rules, 1972 regarding encashment of earned leave alongwith LTC
whileinservicewhichsaysthat Government servants arepermitted to
encashearned leaveupto 10daysat thetimeof availingLeaveTravel
Concessionsubject to the conditionthat earned leave of at least an
equivalent duration is also availed of by the Government servant
simultaneously. This Department has been receiving a number of
references fromvariousMinistries/Departments towaivethis condition
citingpractical problems facedbythemas the facilityof LTC is also
admissiblewhileavailingCasual Leave.
2. The matter has been examined in this Department in
consultation withtheMinistry of Financeandit has nowbeendecided
to permit Government servants encashment of earned leaveupto 10.
daysat thetimeof availingLTCwithout anylinkagetothenumber of
daysandthenature ofleaveavailedwhileproceedingonLTC.
3. Theseordersshall takeeffectfromthedateofissue.
4. Formal amendment to the provisions of CCS(Leave) Rules,
1972arebeingissuedseparately.
