Vocabulary diary is one of the methods that can help English learners to learn English.

Vocabulary diary
was adapted from Vocabulary Journal. According to Lisa Larson, Temoca Dixon, and Dianna Townsend
(2013), Vocabulary Journal refers to an interactive notebook that may include vocabulary section for
each unit. By using vocabulary journal, the pupils will be able to revisit the words that they had written
in their vocabulary diary and add more examples in order to improve on their understanding. This way,
when the participants review the vocabulary again they will be able to remember the vocabulary. The
information about the vocabulary will be stored in the short term store memory. When the participants
had reviewed the vocabulary for multiple times, the knowledge will slowly get integrated into long term
memory. This is how Vocabulary Diary helps the participants to retain the vocabulary which is by using
the repetition principle.
