This week in class our students are learning about Digital Citizenship and Cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is the use of electronic devices in order to bully, harass and/or threaten others. This is unfortunately a growing epidemic which has caused many students to take their own lives. But we, together, can stop this!
Your child signed their own digital pledge this week that they have brought to show you. You are asked to review their pledges and pledge the following.
1. I pledge to monitor my students electronic activity including computers, cell phones and internet. 2. I pledge to speak with my child about the negative effects of cyberbullying if I believe they, or their friends, are involved. 3. I pledge to contact the teacher and staff if I suspect my child is being cyberbullied.
