Keisuke Yamada

I had the pleasure of working with Keisuke Yamada during his final student teacher placement at
Rosehill Secondary College in 2014. Rosehill is a coeducational school in Niddrie situated in
Melbournes North West.

During his time at Rosehill Secondary College, Keisuke got involved in the college community in a
myriad of ways. Not only did he plan and teach Physical Education and Health classes but he helped
with sporting carnivals and lunch time activities, he attended the parent teacher interview evening
and he attended staff meetings on planning, development and curriculum.

Keisuke worked well to further develop his teaching skills and professional knowledge. He
was well organised and flexible in his approach which is important in a PE setting. Keisuke
developed health curriculum which he delivered, assessed and reflected upon. He engaged
professionally with colleagues and he maintained a high level of professionalism while
working with students and staff alike. Keisuke was well liked by the students.

Keisuke planned and implemented a range of effective teaching strategies to further
student learning. He maintained a supportive, safe and inclusive environment for all and he
modified his teaching practice based on the current environment and conditions of each
lesson. Keisuke regularly sought further information to support his own learning and he
asked questions about the school, its operations and management processes.

Keisuke has a thorough understanding of the principles of learning and teaching and he used
these skills in his approach towards achieving positive learning outcomes for all students. He
catered for all levels and adapted his style for different situations. He has a good
understanding of the content knowledge in PE and Health and he sought to explore a range
of strategies to teach the required curriculum.

Keisuke will go on to become an outstanding coach or teacher.
