Year 8 Geography Project: Exploring

Landforms
Landforms and landscapes focuses on investigating geomorphology through study of landscapes
and their landforms. This unit examines the processes that shape individual landforms, the
values and meanings placed on landforms and landscapes by diverse cultures, hazards associated
with landscapes, and management of landscapes.

Your task: To research about one landform that has significance among Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander Peoples.

You can choose to present your information in any way you choose. Some examples might
include:
- PowerPoint
- A3 poster
- Prezi
- Website design

You can choose any of the following landforms:
- Uluru - 12 Apostles
- Wave Rock - Flinders Rangers
- Great Barrier Reef - Katherine's Gorge
- The Devil's Marbles - Other (see me to confirm)

You must include the following information in your final presentation:
- A location of your landform on a map
- The landscape your landform is a part of (desert, mountains)
- The geographical processes involved in the formation of your landform
- What significance does this landform have for Aboriginal people?
- Include photos, maps, graphs and other images throughout your presentation
- Bibliography
