Fiction books are stories that are made up by
the author and are not true
Fiction books are organized in alphabetical
order by authors last name, then first name
Although fiction books are not true some
stories can appear to be realistic.
Non-Fiction books are true or about real
people, events, and places, and things
Non-Fiction books are shelved by subject of
the books.
Non-Fiction books are organized using the
Dewey Decimal system which has 10 basic
subject areas or categories.

dewy call number.
Once you have written down the call number, look to the
book shelves to help you identify the section of books
included within the row.
