SHOOTING SCRIPT
2014 Zach Tretter

EXT MOSCOW RUSSIA

A man, EMPORER, stands at a podium fully dressed in a military
uniform. He is standing before a crowd of over a hundred
thousand Russian civilians. Hes making a speech. There is no
sound. A voice, SCAR, speaks.

SCAR (O. C.)
He told us the planet was
useless. There were too many
of us. Our home could not
meet our needs anymore. It
wasnt enough, he said. We
had to focus on leaving it as
an assimilated unity of every
country in the world.
(beat)
This was the empires plan
for world peace. This was
our true destiny according to
them. They wanted to make
sure every single country
would oblige themselves to
this abandonment scheme. They
invaded Ukraine first. It
takes a war to make peace.

INT./EXT. APARTMENT NORTHERN VIRGINIA DUSK
An alarm radio turns on. The time is 5:15. A man, RICHARD
HERMES(Secretary of State, 45), jolts awake. He sees the clock
and crawls out of bed. He puts on his suit as the radio
continues.
RADIO(BRET)
(static)
and now back to Jim with
current events. Jim, any
news on the Presidents
whereabouts so far?

RADIO(JIM)
(static, a beat)
Thanks Bret. No recent
whereabouts have been released
yet. Ever since President Atlas
declared war on the
2014 Zach Tretter

(static)ssian Empire, hes been
in hiding as he has been for the
past month.

HERMES is making a batch of coffee. He looks stressed, dismal.

CUT TO
INT./EXT. WAR TENT SAUDI ARABIA NIGHTTIME

A general, RACHARD, fully dressed in a BDU marches into a tent.
He sees two other soldiers playing with the radio.

RACHARD
Morning Gentlemen.

SOLDEIR 1
(salutes)
Sir.

RACHARD
Any news?

SOLDEIR 2
Hes still hiding sir.

RACHARD
(muttering)
Damn.
RACHARD EXITS

Outside of the tent, RACARD looks at the sunrise. He stands up
straight and looks to the ground. Nearby a soldier, SCAR, sees
him from a hole in his tent. He turns to his fellow soldiers.

SCAR
Not today.

INT COMMUNICATIONS ROOM AMERICAN CAMPOUT

RACHARD and CAPTAIN walk in. There are three men hooking up a
large, dusty, old communications set up.

WORKER #1
Its almost done, sir. Just
a few more wirings left to
go.

2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD
Is it going to get through?

WORKER #1
Yes.

RACHARD
They can trace it right?

WORKER #1
Yes.

CAPTAIN
Then why are we using this?
Wouldnt it jeporadize the
mission?

RACHARD
Its highly unlikely that the
enemy will spy right outside
their doorstep when their
miles deep in another
continent.

CUT TO

INT BLACK FORD

HERMES in a face disguise drives himself to a parking lot. He
gets out of the car and opens a basement door. He looks to his
right and sees no cars. The door opens and he enters.

EXT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

HERMES sees two men in shadows wearing suits and earpieces.
Theyre what is left of the Secret Service. One nods to him as
he walks to the side of a house. He opens the screen door and
proceeds downstairs.

INT - PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

HERMES finds a basement that is poorly lit. Theres a man
sitting in a bench with his head down. Hes slouched over. The
man is Alexander Atlas (the current President of the United
2014 Zach Tretter

States of America [39], or at least, what is left of America.
Two men fade in from the shadows in the Secret Service Uniform.

AGENT #7
Stop.

AGENT #7 pats down HERMES while AGENT #9 has his
hand on his pistol.

AGENT #7
Name?

HERMES
Richard M. Hermes.

AGENT #7
Buisness?

HERMES
Secretary of State until they fire
me.

AGENT #9
Or?

HERMES
Until Im K.I.A. or captured.

AGENT #7
Age?

ATLAS is agitated and nervous at the same time.
He bursts.

ATLAS
(sternly)
Let him in, Agent. I know its
him.

ANGENT #7 steps back in to the shadows and AGENT
#9 puts away his pistol. HERMES walks towards
ATLAS. He stands there for a while looking down
at the pitiful president. ATLAS murmers.

ATLAS
(mumbling)
Report?
2014 Zach Tretter

HERMES
The news is saying that radiation
levels have gone up by 5 and a
half percent this morning.
(beat)
Another bomb went off in Chicago,
last night, which adds to the
increasing death toll.
(beat)
Two more nukes devastated Brazil.
Everyone left in the alliance is
debating.

ATLAS
(grumbling sarcastically)
Is that so?

HERMES
And the Russians are two steps
away from dropping enough bombs to
blow up this world twice!
(beat)
and itll get worse every day
until the people know they still
have a leader.

ATLAS
I know, Hermes. People are dying.

HERMES
What are you going to do about it?

ATLAS
I cant do a damn thing. I cant
do anything from this cell to keep
people from slaughtering
themselves, can I? Everyone from
my office has been scattered
across the country ever since I
made the choice to protect this
planet, this human race! How the
hell am I supposed to save the
world, let alone the country? And
who are you to tell me to put the
world on my back? Its too much
for one man.
2014 Zach Tretter

HERMES
But youre not one man. Youre
the leader of this alliance. You
are their symbol of hope.

ATLAS
(wiping his face)
I know...I know.

INT/EXT EAGLE SQUAD BASE - TEHRAN DESERT

Inside of a dune, the entirety of EAGLE SQUAD is
at attention in two rows. GENERAL RACHARD, with
his hands behind his back, is walking along
addressing each soldier.

RACHARD
Gentlemen. Its been over two
months today since we lost all
contact from our leader.
President Atlas whereabouts are
uncertain. I know you all have
been waiting for the day when we
wipe out the bastards next door.
Ive brought you here today to
tell you that the day will come.
We must be patient. We cannot
give up hope. If we dont move
forward today, there might not be
another tomorrow. Dismissed.

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

HERMES has his back turned to the pitiful
president. ATLAS raises his head.

ATLAS
Theres something we can do. Its
a stretch but it can work if we
time it right.

HERMES
What do you mean, time it right?

2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
If it fails, its over.

There is a long pause.

HERMES
What is your plan, Mr. President?

ATLAS
We need to get the last of my
cabinet back. I need them to--

HERMES
Theyre all dead, sir. You know
this.

ATLAS
Anybody else in office I can talk
to?

HERMES
Youre still the only one.

ATLAS
(shocked)
In office?

HERMES
With power.

ATLAS
Hermy, Ive been in hiding for two
months now. The power I had
before, its gone.

CUT TO
INT/EXT WHITE HOUSE 2134

ATLAS and HERMES, younger, sit with a small cabinet of five to
six members. They are arguing.

MEMBER #2
We cant jump to conclusions about
an armament this big!

MEMBER #1
2014 Zach Tretter

I agree, theres too much of a
political influence on the
propaganda.

MEMBER #3
How the hell do we expect a third
world country to manufacture this
range of weaponry?

ATLAS interjects.

ATLAS
It exists.

MEMBER #2
What exists?

ATLAS
The armament is real. We have an
incredible amount of evidence to
prove it but that, I understand.
What I dont understand is why
when there are these reports, my
cabinet is doing everything they
can to prove them wrong even if
they know theyre right.
(beat)
We were threatened this morning by
a call saying were next on the
empires radar. We are the next
target.
(beat)
Why, when the evidence is right
here, are you trying to make peace
with the ones that are only going
to make war?

The cabinet is silent.

MEMBER #3
Are you saying we make a decision
right now?

ATLAS
Yes. And I say we fight.

2014 Zach Tretter

Everyone is silent and shocked. ATLAS hand is
shaking.

CUT TO

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

HERMES is pacing around ATLAS. ATLAS is still sunken in a
defeated posture.

ATLAS
Do we still have connections?

HERMES
All your cabinet is dead, weve
been over

ATLAS
I meant on the inside.

HERMES
There are few. I dont know if
theyve left us though, seeing how
things are going these days.

ATLAS is silent.

HERMES (contd)
Have you even been listening to
the radio?

ATLAS
No. Its too risky.

HERMES
(stern)
Everyone in this charred country
is waiting for your call. Every
general in the Middle East is
always going to be waiting for
your call. You might not have the
power to destroy these bastards
from here, but they do. Its been
two months already, make that
call!

ATLAS
2014 Zach Tretter

And theyre the only hope right
now?

HERMES nods.

ATLAS
Wheres Eagle Squad now?

HERMES
Have you checked the map?

ATLAS
Not since yesterday.

HERMES
Theyre outside Tehran, waiting
with C and E company from
Afghanistan.

ATLAS
How far from the nukes.

HERMES
About 10 miles.

ATLAS
(raising his head)
Isnt that a bit close?

HERMES
Theyre on thin ice, yes. But
its you whos going to make them
slide across--

ATLAS
(smiling)
Straight into their core.

HERMES
--Or watch them break through.

EXT 10-12 MILES FROM TEHRAN, IRAN NIGHTIME

The EAGLE SCOUT camp is camouflaged in the dead
grass and sand. A green light is seen blinking
in one of the tents.

2014 Zach Tretter

INT SHABBY TENT

A flashing green light blinks. It wakes up a
small IRANIAN BOY. He presses a button on the
transmitter and a message comes up. He prints the
message and runs outside of the tent. He gets in
a old, broken in car and turns on the ignition.

EXT EAGLE CAMPOUT NIGHTTIME

The car comes into a barren desert surrounded in
small dunes. It stops. The boy gets out and runs
to a dune. A door opens and sand comes into the
entrance. He gives the letter to the man by his
esk, GENERAL RACHARD. RACHARD snatches it and
reads. Its read in ATLAS voice

Message: General Rachard, Its been a long time
since contact. I apologize for shadowing you for
the past two months. Its time to knock out that
armament. Keep me posted General, its time to
end this war.

Alexander Atlas
President of the United States of America

RACHARD nods to the boy.

CUT DESERT

The boy is speeding back to his rendez-vous
point.

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERs

HERMES is looking at the map. He pulls out a
phone-like device.

HERMES
Rachard received the message.

ATLAS
Good. Did he send any transmission
back?

HERMES
No, not yet.
2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
Damn. Tracing those messages
isnt possible, right?

HERMES
As far as I know, theyre sealed.

ATLAS
We shouldnt wait on him alone.
Are there anymore regiments in the
desert?

HERMES
Not as close as they are, and not
nearly as skilled.

ATLAS
How many troops are in that squad?

HERMES
Roughly forty.

ATLAS
Well then I guess well just have
to wait.

HERMES
Is there more to your plan than
just an ambush, sir?

ATLAS
Yes, theres a speech.

HERMES
A speech?

ATLAS
Yes.

HERMES
(angry)
How the hell do you expect to make
a speech! Especially in these
times? If you leave this hole,,
you are killed!

2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
Calm down, Hermes.

HERMES
Are you trying to get yourself
killed.

ATLAS
NoBut thats inevitable.
HERMES is silent

ATLAS (contd)
I have one more address to give.
One more speech.

HERMES
Who is going to hear this speech?

ATLAS
The people.

HERMES
Theyre trying to kill us!

ATLAS
On our side!

There is a beat.

HEREMES
Shouldnt you discuss this move
with your government, Mr.
President? What is to become of
our government?

ATLAS
(sighs)
There is no government, Hermes.

HERMES
What do you mean? Of course there
is!

ATLAS
No. Government is an idea; an
enforced idea. We supported a
fake system called the economy
2014 Zach Tretter

that pushed us towards buying
the tools to destroy our world and
our way of living. We bought our
death sentence but not the
headstone. This race is alive to
be alive. Weve forgotten that.

HERMES
What about justice? Moral law?

ATLAS
Its taught. Learned. Not
enforced. Not written but known.

HEREMS
Then where is this kind of
salvation?

ATLAS
In an allied species with the
quest to survive and learn.

HERMES
What will happen to the people
running this planet?

ATLAS
They are humans just like the rest
of us. Over the years, its been
proven that they also make
detrimental mistakes. Right now
our biggest mistake is that weve
screwed the planet to the point
where it is almost inhabitable.
Our laws and our money caused
this. We earned this. This is
why an overreaching government is
flawed. Its not real. Humans
are humans. Government is an idea.

HERMES
Then how the hell do you expect to
push these humans in the right
direction?

ATLAS
2014 Zach Tretter

People will do anything when their
life is threatened. Its fight or
flight, and right now
(beat)
Theres nowhere to fly to.

A beeping noise is heard in the background.

HERMES
That would be General Rachard.

HERMES walks towards a screen on the wall. He
pushes a beeping blue light. A message comes up.

Message:

Mr. President,

Received

Were heading to the plant tomorrow morning.
Glad were up and running again. We will speak
next time before they can trace our messages.

789-83948-712893-82182-705-83

Rachard

INT/EXT EAGLE SCOUT BASE TEHRAN DESERT

RACHARD walks between two lines of Eagle Scout
Troopers at attention.

RACHARD
This is it. That nuclear plant is
less than 10 miles away. Ending
this hell is less than 10 miles
away. Weve been waiting far too
long to end the suffering of those
at home and all around the world.
Suit up, gear up, point your
weapons north. Put your barrels
in the mouth of the enemy! Its
time to end this war! Thats an
order!

ALL TROOPS
2014 Zach Tretter

(simultaneously)
Yes, sir!

INT PRESIDENTS HEADQUARTERS

HERMES is starring at the big screen in front of
him. Its a digital world map. It also shows
radiation hot-spots.

HERMES
Its getting late over here.

ATLAS
You should go home, get some rest.
Ambush is tomorrow.

HERMES
Rachard hasnt responded in a few
minutes.

ATLAS
Hell be fine. Hes rallying the
troops, I bet.

HERMES
Ill be back tomorrow. You should
also get some rest.

ATLAS
I know.

HERMES
Ill be back in the morning.
ATLAS nods.

CUT TO

INT HERMES APARTMENT

HEREMES stares out to the murky, cloudy, remains of Washington
D. C.

EXT TEHRAN DESERT

The sun rises. 60 soldiers, spread out, walk creepily over a
dune and see a humongous factory within a murky haze. It is
2014 Zach Tretter

very far away. They are a couple miles from it, but its
enormity takes up their entire vision. They see the largest
nuclear warhead manufacturing building ever constructed. RACARD
stays on his communications.

RACARD
Arnie? Do you copy?

INT/EXT COMMUNICATIONS ROOM EAGLE CAMPOUT

A skinny boy, ARNIE is working a partially
broken communications set up. Hes trying
to connect with RACHARD who is miles away.

RACHARD
(static)
-o you copy? Arnie?

ARNIE
(on headphones)
Loud and clear, sir.

EXT TEHRAN DESERT

Rachard is on the communications with ARNIE.

RACHARD
Get me connected with him.

ARNIE
(on earpiece; static)
Aye Aye Captain.

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERs
HERMES is checked again. ATLAS is standing
looking at the map and then at the
communications set up. HERMES walks over
beside him.

HERMES
Still nothing?

ATLAS
Nothing.

HERMES
2014 Zach Tretter

Give them some time. Theyre
out there.

ATLAS
(nervous)
I know.

HERMES
Its easy to trace, buy its
too old for them to go
looking for it. Theyd think
its another rebellion group.

ATLAS
Theyd find us just the same.
Were the rebels too in their
eyes.

HERMES
They wouldnt suspect
anything so close to their
factory. Its unlikely that
they would even look that
close to home. Theyre
spread all over the map.

ATLAS
Its still risky.

HERMES
I agree. You dont need to
be worried; they wont look
on their doorstep. They
arent looking for them.

ATLAS
I know. Theyre looking for
me.

EXT TEHRAN DESERT DUSK

Armed Soldiers are scattered across the dunes. Squads of troops
stand behind RACHARD who is in the shade of a dune. RACHARD
motions for his men to get into cover. The soldiers hide behind
their nearest dune; shadowed. RACHARD looks to CAPTAIN on his
left.

2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD
Find a scout. We need a
status report.

CAPTAIN
Yes, sir.

CAPTAIN moves quickly through the dune. He motions to SCAR,
about 20 feet from him, to come over. SCAR crouches over to
CAPTAIN.

SCAR
What can I do, sir?

CAPTAIN
We need a status report.
Scout it out.

SCAR looks at the golden line of sun that outlines the dunes.
He looks back at CAPTAIN.

SCAR
(timid but dignified)
Yes sir.

CAPTAIN returns to his post alongside RACHARD. SCAR climbs the
dune and stops near the top. He scans the soldiers below him.
He is anxious. He looks above the dune and sees a massive
construction. He sees the bomb factory. He zooms with his
goggles and sees no one surrounding the perimeter. He has to
look for a while because the haze and dust fog blurs the factory
with the naked eye. He signals to CAPTAIN who is watching him
attentively. He looks at the factory again and signals that the
platoon is about a mile away from the factory. RACHARD looks to
his right and signals the COMMUNICATION OPERATOR.

RACAHRD
(on communications)
Arnie, were connecting, keep
it steady, over.

CUT TO

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

HERMES and ATLAS are looking at the map of the Middle East.

2014 Zach Tretter

HERMES
We have a plan for you.

ATLAS
A plan for what?

HERMES
Its a back-up in case we
need to evacuate.

ATLAS
Weve had that since we built
this place.

HERMES
(ignoring)
Would you like me to go
through the details?

ATLAS
I think its best to follow
your lead.

HERMES
Remember, youre the
president.

ATLAS
(half-smirking)
You know what I meant.

HERMES
Then let me inform you on the
plan.

ATLAS
(stern)
I trust that you know what
youre doing my friend.
Lets be patient and hope for
the best.

HERMES
Times like these, we dont
have the luxury of time
anymore.

2014 Zach Tretter

A green light starts blinking where the
American Troops are located in the Tehran
Desert. HERMES quickly motions to the
guards and workers.

HERMES
Get us connected with that
signal!

OPERATOR #1
Right away sir.

HERMES
We dont have a lot of time
before theres a possibility
of it getting traced.
(to ATLAS)
Heres our chance.

ATLAS expression hasnt changed.

ATLAS
We can only hope.

CUT TO

EXT TEHRAN desert

RACHARD and a RADIO OPERATOR are huddled at the bottom of a
dune.

RACHARD
(slowly)
-90876.

R. OPERATOR
Got it, sir.
(on intercom)
Do you have the connection,
Arnie?
(beat)
Alright. We got it, sir.

RACHARD
Good.

RACHARD looks at his soldiers tensely.
2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD (contd)
(barely)
Call it in.

CUT TO

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

HERMES walks next to ATLAS who is leaning over the table in
front of the large map. A green light starts blinking on the
Iran territory on the map.

ATLAS
(shocked)
Get connected!

HERMES
Hurry!

OPERATOR #1 rushes to the radio configuration and starts
connecting the signals.

OPERATOR #1
Done.

A scratchy noise is heard. OPERATOR #1 amplifies it on the
radio configuration. RACHARDs voice is heard. It is scratchy
and distorted due to the old technology.

RACHARD
(scratchy)
Mr. President, over? Mr.
President do you copy, over?

ATLAS looks at OPERATOR #1 who hands a wired microphone setup to
HERMES. HERMES places it in front of ATLAS. RACHARD keeps
repeating as the connection becomes clearer. ATLAS presses the
communication button.

ATLAS
Yes, General, I copy, over.
Do you hear me, over?

RACHARD
2014 Zach Tretter

(scratchy)
I hear you, sir, over.

ATLAS
Whats your position, over?

CUT TO

EXT TEHRAN DESERT

RACHARD and the RADIO OPERATOR are positioned at the bottom of
the dune. All the surrounding soldiers are listening
attentively.

RACHARD
Were about a mile from the
nuclear compound.

ATLAS
(on radio)
Are you safe?

RACHARD is aware that the connection is risky. Hes annoyed by
the questions that ATLAS asks.

RACHARD
Yes, sir. Were awaiting
your plan of action, sir,
over.

There is a beat.

ATLAS
(on radio)
Dont move into the compound
yet.

RACHARD is confused.

RACHARD
What do you want us to do
sir, over?

ATLAS
(on radio)
2014 Zach Tretter

Did you gather a full map of
the compound over the months?

CUT TO

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

HERMES and ATLAS are both listening anxiously.

RACHARD
(on radio)
I dont believe we did but we
can see where to enter, over.

ATLAS
Do you have a cartographer in
your squad?

RAHCARD
(on radio)
Yes, weve got one, over.

ATLAS
Get that place mapped before
anything, do you understand,
over?

RACHARD
(on radio)
Yes sir.

CUT TO

EXT TEHRAN DESERT

A line of RACHARDs troops start mounting their weapons over the
edge of a huge dune. They are invisible to the enemy because of
the sandy haze.

NOTE: Dunes are practically craters created by large bombs.
They are about 30 feet deep.

RACHARD turns to his MAPPER and motions for him to move up. The
MAPPER and a few other troops sprint over the dune into another
CRATER-DUNE. The MAPPER pulls his scanning equipment from his
back pack. RACHARD pulls out his communications.

2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD
Mr. President, over?

ATLAS
(on radio)
Im still here general.

RACHARD
The mappers in position and
hes setting up, over.

ATLAS
(on radio)
Good, how fast do you think
he can map the area?

RACHARD
Itll take a couple of
minutes, sir, over.

CUT TO

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

ATLAS is sweating. He looks at HEREMES.

ATLAS
Should we still be
communicating for longer?

HERMES
I was just about to ask that.

ATLAS
Its too risky.

ATLAS grabs his communications.

ATLAS
General, I think we should
disconnect until youve got
the place mapped, ok?

There is a pause.

RACHARD
(on radio)
2014 Zach Tretter

Got it, sir, I agree, well
contact you soon, over.

The green dot on the map stops blinking. ATLAS stands up
straight; slowly.

CUT TO

EXT TEHRAN DESERT FORWARD DUNE

The MAPPER is assembling a device on a tri-
pod along with a handheld device. He looks
back at RACHARD who is the only head visible
on the dune. The MAPPER turns his handheld
device on and starts scanning the building
by panning the device across the
construction. He gives RACHARD a signal.

EXT TEHRAN DESERT RACHARDs POSITION

RACHARD turns to his COMMUNICATIONS
OPERATOR.

RACHARD
Get him back on.

COM. OP.
Yes, sir.

RACHARD looks at the MAPPER.

RACHARD
Lets make this quick.

CUT TO

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

RACHARD has his back to the map with his arms crossed. HERMES
is sitting down tapping his foot nervously.

ATLAS
How long has it been?

HERMES checks his watch and wipes the sweat from his forehead.

HERMES
2014 Zach Tretter

More than enough time.

The green light starts blinking. OPERATOR #1 gets the
connection through. RACHARDs voice is clear.

RACHARD
(on radio)
Mr. President, can you hear
me, over? Mr. President? Mr.
President, can you hear me,
over?

ATLAS sporadically turns on his communications.

ATLAS
Yes, general, I can hear you.

RACHARD
(on radio)
We got a full scan of the
area and were about to plan
our infiltration, over.
Looks like were almost
there, sir, over.

HERMES gets up from his seat and stands behind a relieved ATLAS.

HERMES
(relieved)
Its about time.

ATLAS is still extremely stressed.

ATLAS
(to HERMES)
More than enough time.

RACHARD
(on radio)
Sir, well be able to
mo...(static)

The connection is now choppy and inconsistent. HERMES, with a
worried face, notices. ATLAS sees HERMES face and turns to the
communications.

2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
General? Can you hear me?
(to OPERATOR #1)
Is there still a connection?

OPERATOR #1
(looking at his
instruments)
Yes, sir.

RACHARDS breaking connection comes in a again. Its still
inconsistent, static, and choppy.

RACHARD
(on radio)
...Sir, over? I can
he...(static)...can you hear
me, sir, over? Mr. President,
over?

ATLAS looks petrified. He quickly flicks on his communications.

ATLAS
(to RACHARD)
General, this is my last
message. Get your men away
from the compound. I repeat,
get your men out of position.
Weve been hacked!

HERMES looks to the guards.

HERMES
(frantically)
Shut it down! Weve been
compromised! Shut everything
down!
(to ATLAS)
Come with me, sir.

CUT TO

EXT TEHRAN DESERT

RACHARD looks around to all of his men. The last words of
ATLAS message are statically coming through. The RADIO OPERATOR
looks up at RACHARD. Theyre both frightened.
2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD
(to R. OPERATOR)
Tell Arnie to find cover.

RACHARD looks around to all the men at the bottom of the dune.

RACHARD
Fall out! Kill all your
communications. Were
heading east; I repeat were
heading east. Mission
compromised!

The RADIO OPERATOR goes to his communications.

CUT TO

INT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

All the screens and maps are blank. ATLAS watches all the
electronics shut down. Hes in shock, petrified. HERMES
approaches.

HEREMES
We need to move you.

ATLAS
Everyone else out?

HERMES
Yes, follow me.

ATLAS turns around and follows HERMES to an opening in the
ground. They climb down.

INT UNDERGROUND ESCAPE ROUTE

ATLAS and HERMES look down the long tunnel. HEREMES is nervous
and sweating. He turns to ATLAS and pulls out a small
flashlight. He motions to ATLAS.

HERMES
This way.

ATLAS looks around, confused.

2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
Where are the others?

HERMES
They didnt go this way.

ATLAS
Which way did they go?

HERMES
We wont know until they
contact us.

ATLAS
Do they know where we are?

HERMES
No, sir.

A low murmur is heard above.

HERMES (contd)
We should hurry, Mr.
President. This way, sir.

ATLAS and HERMES briskly walk through the tunnel. The murmur
gets louder. HERMES stops and looks directly up. He sees dirt
and dust falling from the tunnel ceiling.

HERMES
(worried)
We need to hurry now, sir.

ATLAS and HERMES run through the tunnel. The murmur gets louder
and louder. ATLAS and HERMES start sprinting. A loud explosion
cracks through the tunnel. HERMES and ATLAS are knocked to
their feet.

EXT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

A large explosion erupts and demolishes the compound. The frame
of the HEADQUARTERS is devastated.

CUT TO

EXT TEHRAN DESERT
2014 Zach Tretter

The sand is silent. RACHARD is running with a few soldiers in
front of him. He looks behind himself and sees nothing but haze
and dunes. He looks out towards the barely perceptible outline
of the compound and sees no one. His troops are sprinting
through the desert. RACHARD calls out.

RACHARD
Form Up!

All the troops stop running and catch their breath. They rally
up with RACHARD and the RADIO OPERATOR.

RACHARD
Operator?

R. OPERATOR
Sir?

RACHARD
Lets try to get a hold of
Arnie.

R. OPERATOR
Yes, sir.

The RADIO OPERATOR constructs his radio and tunes it to Arnies
frequency.

R. OPERATOR
Arnie, over? Do you read me?

There is only static, disjointed noise.

R. OPERATOR (contd)
Can you hear me, over? Arnie-

RACHARD looks around at all his troops.
They all look hopeless.

RACHARD
(solemnly)
Stop, son. He gone, we need
to move. Destroy the radio.

R. OPERATOR
Yes, sir.
2014 Zach Tretter

The troops are looking either down at the
sand or hopelessly at RACHARD. Behind
RACHARD is the faint silhouette of the
Nuclear Compound they abandoned.

RACHARD
(to the troops)
Troops, were heading west
towards the Israeli border.
Save as much water as you
can. We cant risk going
back to camp.
(beat)
My friends, this is only
another step towards beating
the enemy. Weve been hit
hard but we still have a
troop. We will create another
plan. This isnt over. Lets
move.

The troops turn and begin to move out.

CUT TO

EXT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS - DAYTIME

The ruin of ATLASs headquarters is beneath a haze of dust. Two
large black Imperial trucks pull up to the rubble. The back
doors open on one truck. Two Russian soldiers in full battle
wear come out. They are SMITH, an Allied spy, and CAPT. ARTIMI,
a Russian captain. They stand on the rubble.

CAPT. ARTIMI
(in Russian)
I dont see any radio wires.
Did they shoot the right
place?

SMITH
(in Russian)
They cant mistake that kind
of a trace, Captain. This is
the place.

CAPT. ARTIMI
2014 Zach Tretter

(in Russain)
I agree.

SMITH
(in Russain)
I want to do a search. The
teams in the other car
right?

CAPT. ARTIMI
(in Russian)
Yes, sir. Ill get them for
you.

CAPT. ARTIMI motions to the second truck. Four troops come out
and walk towards the two commanding officers.

CAPT. ARTIMI (contd)
(in Russian)
What would you have me do
general?

SMITH
(in Russian)
I want you to drive back to
camp and contact Admiral Lon.
I think we got him. Ill
have these troops inspect the
ruins.

CAPT. ARTIMI
(in Russian)
Agreed, this could be a
promotion General Geroy?

SMITH
(in Russian)
I hope so. Thank you,
comrade.

CAPT. ARTIMI goes back to the second truck and drives off.
SMITH walks towards the four Russian troops.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Comrades, I need you to look
for any bodies. Pick up as
2014 Zach Tretter

much rubble as you can. Any
technology of any sort, maps,
anything. Understand?

The troops nod.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Good. Ill be checking on
the other side.
(points to a solider)
You, come with me.

R. TROOP 1
(in Russian)
Yes, sir.

SMITH and R. TROOP 1 walk over the rubble to the other side of
the ruin.

CUT TO

INT UNDERGROUND ESCAPE ROUTE

ATLAS and HERMES are still in the tunnel. ATLAS is sitting
against the tunnel wall while HERMES is devising a plan.

ATLAS
Whats the plan?

HERMES
Were waiting for someone
right now. Lets hope he got
here before any Imperials.

ATLAS
Hows he going to get in?

HERMES
Same way we did.

ATLAS
Did that get blown away?

HERMES
I dont think so, the tunnel
didnt collapse.
2014 Zach Tretter

Another murmur is heard. CAPT. ARTIMIs truck is driving over
the tunnel.

ATLAS
Do you hear that?

HERMES
No...wait, that hum?

ATLAS
Yea, its a Humvee.

HERMES
Shit,
(aside)
he wouldnt come in one of
those.

ATLAS
Should we move?

HERMES
We should wait. If we hear
any Russians, well move.

ATLAS
Do you mind me asking where?
HERMES
Ive told you before, sir, I
can never tell you that,
remember?

ATLAS
(realizing)
Yes, I remember.

HERMES
(agitated)
If we got caught, it would
compromise the war by giving
up our allies.

ATLAS
I know, Hermy, Im just
trying to find a solution.

2014 Zach Tretter

HERMES
If you dont mind me saying
sir, I have your life under
control, please focus on the
country.

ATLAS
I understand.

The rubble moving is heard. Its getting louder.

ATLAS
(worried)
Whoevers up there is moving
rocks around. That can only
be Russian.

HERMES
I know.

CUT TO
EXT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

A Russian soldier picks up a large rock from the bottom of the
rubble and sees a circular door hatch with a bent handle. He
calls out to SMITH.

R. TROOP 2
(in Russian)
General?!

SMITH and R. TROOP 1 climb over to R. TROOP 2. SMITH looks at
R. TROOP 2 and then at the hatch.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Did anyone bring a line?

The troops look at each other and shake their heads.

SMITH
(in Russian)
I got one in the truck.

He points at a R. TROOP 3.

2014 Zach Tretter

SMITH
(in Russian)
You, go get it, passenger
seat, doors open.

R. TROOP 3 runs towards the truck. SMITH kneels and pulls on
the bent hatch handle. He motions to the others troops for help.
Two come over and pull on the handle. The hatch opens and the
troops struggle to throw it aside. SMITH looks down the hole.
R. TROOP 3 comes back with the rope. He holds it out for SMITH
to grab.

CUT TO

INT UNDERGROUND ESCAPE ROUTE

ATLAS and HERMES are looking up. ATLAS turns his head. About
100 feet down the tunnel he can see the faint funnel of
daylight.

ATLAS
(shout-whisper)
Hermes! Turn out the light.

HERMES
What? Wha

ATLAS
(shout-whisper)
Shh!

ATLAS sneaks over to the flashlight and
turns it off. Both HERMES and ATLAS are
looking at the faint funnel of light.

HERMES
(whisper)
They found the hatch.

ATLAS
(shout-whisper)
Lets go Hermy!

HERMEs looks confused. Hes hesitant.

HERMES
(whisper)
2014 Zach Tretter

Yea, lets go.

CUT TO

EXT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS OPEN HATCH

SMITH fastens the rope to his waist.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Im going down, comrades.
Set your communications to
six. Ill tell you if I find
him.

R. TROOP 2
(in Russian)
Do you want any of us to come
down too?

SMITH
(in Russian)
No. if hes there I want him
myself. Youll all be
promoted and honored.

All the troops nod. SMITH grabs the rope and sits in the mouth
of the hatch. He throws the rope to the troops. All four of
them grab it and hold on. SMITH nods to the troops. They nod
back in affirmation. SMITH descends.

CUT TO

INT UNDERGROUND ESCAPE ROUTE

SMITH slowly descends into the tunnel. HERMES and ATLAS are
about 300 feet from SMITH. SMITH hits the tunnel floor. He
pulls out his communications and turns the dial to six.

SMITH
(on communications)
(in Russian)
Im in the tunnel. I dont
see anything yet. Ill
update you soon, over.

2014 Zach Tretter

He turns his communications off and unties himself from the
rope. HERMES and ATLAS are standing petrified in the dark.
ATLAS turns to HERMES.

ATLAS
(whisper)
Thats a russain soldier,
Hermy. I dont think our
friend would come here in the
enemies uniform.

HERMES
(whisper)
I know. Do you have a plan?

ATLAS
(whisper)
Yep.

HERMES
(whisper)
Shoot.

HERMES wont take his eyes off of the soldier. Hes now
convinced that he and ATLAS are completely compromised.

ATLAS
(whisper)
We should stand on either
side of these walls.

HERMES
(whisper)
Why?

ATLAS
(whisper)
If he comes close we can
knock him down.

HERMES
(whisper)
Are you armed?

ATLAS
(whisper)
2014 Zach Tretter

No but you are. I can tackle
him, you can hold him at
gunpoint.

HERMES
(whisper)
I agree. It doesnt look
like he has a flashlight on.

ATLAS
(whisper)
Lets hide.

HERMES
Should be easy.

HERMES walks over to one side of the wall while ATLAS moves to
the other. They are well covered by cement pillars that are
sequentially paired along the walls of the tunnel. SMITH starts
slowly walking up the tunnel towards HERMES and ATLAS. About 100
feet up the tunnel, SMITH stops. He pulls his pistol with a
small flashlight attachment. He turns the flashlight on. The
immense length of the tunnel is shown. SMITH keeps walking. He
stops right before the two columns that HERMES and ATLAS are
hiding behind. ATLAS looks at HERMES opposite from him.
Theyre both petrified. The flashlight lowers. SMITH speaks in
perfect English.

SMITH
Company.

HERMES is relieved. He speaks clearly.

HERMES
At ease, Smith.

HERMES comes out from behind the column smiling. SMITH and
HERMES shake hands. ATLAS is still hiding. He doesnt know if
this is a trap or not.

SMITH
I apologize for the uniform.
That mustve been startling
or at the least, confusing.

HERMES
2014 Zach Tretter

Its perfectly alright, Im
glad theres still one of us
who follows the plan.

SMITH
Always, wheres the
president?

HERMES
Hes here.

ATLAS comes out from behind the pillar.

ATLAS
Youre the spy?

They shake hands.

SMITH
Yes, sir, its good to
finally meet you. Im glad
they didnt actually kill you
this time.

ATLAS
Me too.

HERMES
Is your platoon above us?

SMITH
Its not my platoon but Im
in command. Ive been
promoted to general since the
last time we spoke, sir.

ATLAS
Youre an Imperial general?

HERMES
(relieved)
Hes on our side, Mr.
President.

ATLAS
I dont remember you, I
apologize.
2014 Zach Tretter

SMITH
I was assigned before the
Imperials invaded this
country.

ATLAS is skeptical about SMITH. HERMES notices and tries to
convince ATLAS to trust him.

ATLAS
Were you an imperial before
you worked for us?

SMITH
I was a captain, yes. I saw
what was coming and I decided
I could be of good use to
what I thought should be
winning the war.

HERMES
(persuasive)
He was one of our most
valuable when we had the CIA.
Hes the only one we have
left on the inside.

ATLAS
Im convinced hes good,
Hermy. What can you do for
us now, Smith?
SMITH
I can tell you where to go
from here.

HERMES
He can go anywhere we need
him to go.

ATLAS is thinking. SMITH looks hesitant. He doesnt have a lot
of time before his disappearance looks suspicious.

SMITH
Mr. President, if you have a
plan, I need to know soon
before they notice Ive been
gone for too long.
2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
I understand.
(beat)
Hermy, we stored our military
supply in the middle of
Arizona right?

HERMES
All of our technology is
stored underground. Its one
of the--

ATLAS
--Its another safe house, I
know. Its an alright spot
for getting contact to
Rachard. We have a
connection to everything
electronic down there.

HERMES
I dont think we should try
that again. If theyre still
out there, they know what to
do.

ATLAS
Youre right. We should just
focus on getting in contact
with the Allies.

SMITH
I can help with that.

ATLAS
What can you do?

SMITH
I can go anywhere you need me
to. The imperials are
winning right now and nobody
on your side will stand until
they have someone to follow
like they did before. Any
countrys an open door.

2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
(thinking)
I know Sansorros is on our
side.

HERMES
Mexico?

ATLAS
He was one of the first to
stand for our cause. He sent
troops right away.
(to Smith)
Is he still alive?

SMITH
Yes, but hes under close
security. Hes a high
suspect of Ally activity.

ATLAS
Thats perfect. If you can
go down to Mexico City to
interrogate him about my
whereabouts, you can tell him
that we need every leader to
listen to the last plan.

SMITH
That sounds possible.

HERMES
Are you positive, Smith?
Youre our last hope as far
as we know right now.

SMITH
Im positive I can talk to
him. When I tell my
commanding officers that I
couldnt find you, Ill
suspect that Sansorros has a
clue because hes an ally.
They trust me up there. Ill
talk to him. Give me a
couple days and Ill find a
way to contact you.
2014 Zach Tretter

SMITHs communications are being called. He answers in Russian.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Theres nothing here. Just a
bunch of rubble. Theres
nowhere they couldve gone.

He turns of his communications.

SMITH
(in English)
I have to go back up now.
What do you want to do?

ATLAS steps aside to think.

HERMES
(to ATLAS)
That looks like the best plan
for what we have, sir.

ATLAS
How are we going to get out
of here without getting
caught?

CUT TO

EXT TEHRAN DESERT LATE AFTERNOON

RACHARD and his troops are completely physically exhausted.
Theyve been walking for over 12 hours. RACHARD raises his
hand.

RACHARD
(quick)
Halt.

All the troops stop and turn towards RACHARD.

RACHARD
Were going to stop here to
count supplies and figure out
a way to camp.

2014 Zach Tretter

He turns to SERGEEANT ALDEN.

RACHARD (contd)
Get me a status report of how
long we can last on our
packs.

SERGEANT ALDEN
Yes, sir, right away.

SERGEANT ADLEN runs into the sea of depleted soldiers. RACHARD
looks around the dune for anything. Hes got a bad feeling,
its on his face but he doesnt know where its coming from.
Its getting to be nighttime. The stars are appearing over the
completely cloudless sky. SERGEANT ALDEN jogs over to RACHARD.

SERGEANT ADLEN
Water is getting to be under
minimum, but could last a
couple days.

RACHARD
(subtle)
Good.

SERGEANT ALDEN
Our ammunition is the same as
when we left this morning.
(beat)
The whole platoon is
convinced we wont make it
stranded out in the desert.

RACHARD
Tell them to get moving.

SERGEANT ALDEN is shocked but is completely still and silent.
There is a beat.

SERGEANT ADLEN
Yes, sir.

SERGEANT ALDEN turns around and tells the majority of the troops
to get up from where theyve just begun resting. They
sluggishly start moving west. RACHARD starts to follow but is
still looking around. Hes feeling suspicious. SERGEANT ADLEN
is not far in front of him. He looks from left to right.
2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD can see that SERGEANT ALDEN is also suspicious. RACHARD
takes out his monocular and looks all around the dunes. He sees
a small dot on popping out from a dune 100 feet away. He passes
it at first but then notices it again. RACHARD zooms the
monocular at the small dot and sees nothing. He puts his
monocular away. A loud repetitive popping of bullets floods
around the troops. RACHARD, over the shattering noise, yells
out his command.

RACHARD
Spread! Enemy surrounding,
spread!

RACHARDs troops split to the safest dune wall to take cover.
They climb the dunes only to be stopped by patiently waiting
Israeli soldiers. The Israeli soldiers kick and take the guns
out of the troops hands. RACHARD pulls his gun up and sees
that the majority of his troops are weaponless and are being
taken prisoner. An Israeli soldier comes out and grabs
RACHARDs gun out of his hand. He then hits RACHARD on the back
of the head with the butt of his gun

INT/EXT BLACK MILITARY HUMVEE NORTHERN VIRGINA STREETS

SMITH is in the back of a military truck with the three troops
he commanded while excavating the rubble.

EXT ADMIRAL SKALOLSKIs HEADQUARTERS NORTHEN VIRGINIA

The black military Humvee stops in front of two Russian guards
with machine gun rifles. SMITH and the three other troops get
out of the Humvee. SMITH walks towards the entrance and a GUARD
stops him.

GUARD
(in Russian)
Identification?

SMITH looks at the GUARD and then takes off his sunglasses. The
GUARD pulls out a small handheld identification device. He
points it at SMITHs right eye and holds it in place. A light
repeated blinks green on the device. The guard opens slides a
card in the gate and lets SMITH through.

SMITH
2014 Zach Tretter

(in Russian)
Thanks.

CUT TO

INT ADMIRAL SKALOLSKIs HEADQUARTERS

SMITH walks into the one-room headquarters of ADMIRAL SKALOLSKI.
SKALOLSKI is sitting at a desk in the back of the room. The
room is very dark except for SKALOLSKIs lamp. The lamp only
barely illuminates his side of the room with a yellow glow. Two
more guards are on either side of SKALOLSKI as hes looking at a
map of the east coast. There are Xs all over the eastern
coastline. SMITH waits at the entrance. Without looking up,
SKALOLSKI speaks.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Sit down, please.

SMITH sits down in the only seat he can see. SKALOLSKI looks up.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Were pushing west in three
days.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Yes, sir.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
We have to make him come out
now.

SMITH
(in Russian)
I agree, its been too long.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
We made a misfire.

SMITH
(in Russian)
What do you mean?
2014 Zach Tretter

SKALOLSKI is getting tense.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Artimi tells me you didnt
find a body.

SMITH
(in Russian)
I did not.

There is a beat. The tension is building.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
What did you find in that
hole?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Nothing. It was closed off
on both ends. It looked like
it used to be a tunnel.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
I heard there were no bodies
found at all.

SMITH
(in Russian)
I didnt find anything. We
blew it all up.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
I understand that. Its very
strange to me that this is
the third time weve tracked
such a suspicious signal and
havent been able to find
him.

SMITH
(in Russian)
I understand, sir.
2014 Zach Tretter

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Do you know the empires
position right now in the
war?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Im aware that we are having
some difficulties.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russain)
I was told today that there
was a danger to our largest
Nuclear Compound in the
empire.

SMTIH
(in Russian)
What happened?

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Supposedly, the signal we
traced to find the President
went back Iran. It was a few
miles from that factory.

SMITH
(in Russian)
That cant be a huge problem,
right? We have many more.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
As the years have gone on,
resources are becoming rare.
Were sending everything to
that one compound. It now
controls all the nuclear arms
we have left.

SMITH
(in Russian)
2014 Zach Tretter

We have more than enough
bombs.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Yes, General, but we dont
have enough people we can
trust anymore. The enemy is
smart. They are finding ways
of getting on the inside.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Why then are we focusing on
that one factory?

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Its the last one under the
emperors complete control.
Its enormous but covered
with his men. He wants it to
have full control of the
armaments.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Thats the last one?

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Yes, the last hope is that
factory. The resistance
against us is fueled by what
this American said last year.
Without him, our enemies
dont have a leader. It
urgent that we find him
before resources run out.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Hes just a man, sir.
Shouldnt we focus on finding
the spies instead of a man
with no actual power?

2014 Zach Tretter

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
You, me, and the world all
know thats not true. He
created the resistance. He
is the power. Without him
theres no one to follow
anymore. Hes the root.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Sir, if I may suggest a
solution?

SKALOLSKI nods.

SMITH (contd)
(in Russian)
I dont think he would be
hiding on the east. I think
hes left the country at this
point.

There is a beat. SKALOLSKI is stone-faced.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
What makes you think that?

SMITH
(in Russian)
The last place he would be
would be the capital and
weve been focusing there
since we invaded last year.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
There was evidence about his
hideouts in the capital when
we invaded. I dont think he
would escape while hes
surrounded.

SMITH
(in Russian)
2014 Zach Tretter

I think he already did, sir.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Where do you think he is?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Mexico City.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
With Sansorros?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Yes, sir.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Hes on our list. It makes
sense.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Sir if I may?

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Go on.

SMITH
(in Russian)
I would like to go out and
speak to Sansorros myself and
look around.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Your convinced hes there?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Yes, sir.

SKALOLSKI is suspicious.

2014 Zach Tretter

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
What makes you so sure?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Sansorros has been helping
the Allies since the war
started. I think its
obvious.

SKALOLSKI is still suspicious. SMITH notices.

SMITH (contd)
(in Russian)
(a little nervous)
I want to find him as fast as
you want to find him sir. If
hes there or not, I dont
want to take chances.

SKALOLSKI barely raises his eyebrows. He
likes SMITHs approach.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
I agree, General. When will
you start looking?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Right away, sir.

SKALOLSKI smirks.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Do you need a troop?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Ill find my men, sir.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
So be it. Good luck,
General. Dismissed.
2014 Zach Tretter

SMITH gets up to leave. SKALOLSKI stops him at the entrance.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
General?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Yes, sir?

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
If hes there, youll get
your promotion.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Thank you, sir.

SKALOLSKI nods and motions SMITH out of the headquarters. SMITH
leaves. SKALOLSKI turns to one of his guards.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
I need you to get a track on
him. Can you do that?

GUARD #2
(in Russian)
Yes, admiral, right away.

CUT TO

INT SMITHs HUMVEE

SMITH, in the passenger seat, turns to the DRIVER.

Yes, sir.

CUT TO

EXT PRESIDENTs HEADQUARTERS

The DRIVER and TROOPER get out of the Humvee. They walk above

CUT TO

INT SMITHs HUMVEE

SMITH watches the troopers aimlessly look for nothing in the

pulls his pistol out of its holster and tightens the silencer on

want you to look in there.

TROOPER & DRIVER
(in Russian)
Yes, sir.

The troopers go to the tunnel entrance with the
broken handle.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Open it.

TROOPER
(in Russian)
Yes, sir.

The tunnel entrance is opened. With their backs
turned, SMITH cocks his pistol and shoots both
the driver and the trooper silently in the head.
He throws the rope ladder down the hatch and
calls below.

SMITH
(in English)
Its time to go, Mr. President.

HERMES voice is heard from the bottom.

HERMES
Smith?

SMITH
We need to hurry before these
guys get soaked with blood.

SMITH ties the top of the rope ladder to a rock to keep it
sturdy for ATLAS and HERMES. He looks around nervously for any
witnesses to his murder. The ladder tightens. ATALS and HERMES
are climbing. SMITH pulls the two bodies closer to the hatch.
HERMES comes out of the hatch, squinting. He hasnt seen sun in
a few days. ATLAS comes out next and is practically blinded.
He hasnt seen sun in weeks. Halfway out of the hatch, he looks
to the two dead bodies.

2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
Are they dead?

SMITH
Yes, Mr. President. You and
Hermes need a uniform.

CUT HATCH HOLE

SMITH throws the two dead troopers down the hatch hole. He
motions to HERMES, in a Russian uniform, for help with the hatch
cover. They cover the hatch.

CUT TO

INT SMITHs HUMVEE

desolate and devastated country. SMITH looks back at ATLAS.

SMITH

ATLAS
Yes?

SMITH
Have you decided which safe-
house were headed?

ATLAS
Arizona.

SMITH
Good, thats on the way.

HERMES
Did you find a way to talk to

SMITH
Yes. I met with my Admiral.
Hes letting me go because I
told him I thought you were

from a small eye window on the only door. A man walks over to
the door. The light is obscured.

EXT CONTAINMENT ROOM DOOR

There are two men outside the door. Theyre speaking in
Israeli.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
Theyre definitely not
Russian.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
I know that. We would have
caught them on the radar.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
They killed all their
electronics.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
2014 Zach Tretter

Why didnt they want to be
seen?

PATEL
(in Israeli)
Im thinking special forces.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
Americans? This close to the
enemy? I dont think they
wouldve made it this far.
That would be insane.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
It wouldnt surprise me
actually, Captain. They were
the ones who fought back
first.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
Lets find their leader.

CUT TO

INT CONTAINMENT ROOM

The large metal door slides open. The soldiers barely twitch.
They are depleted and ashamed. PATEL calls out in Russian.

PATEL
(in Russian)
Who is your Captain? Where
is he?

No answer. The Americans dont understand. GEVER looks at PATEL
and shakes his head.

PATEL
(in English)
Which one of you is the
captain of this platoon?

RACHARD lifts his head.

2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD
That would be me.

PATEL turns to GEVER.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
Americans.

GEVER and PATEL walk over to RACHARD. They stand on either side
of him and pick him up from the arms.

GEVER
(in English)
Get up, come with us.

PATEL lets go when RACHARD is up and GEVER puts on a zip-tie as
a form of handcuffs. PATEL grabs RACHARDs arm. He shrugs him
off.

RACHARD
(shrugging)
I can walk.

PATEL glances at GEVER whos looking at him.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
Definitely American.

PATEL smirks.

CUT TO

INT/EXT HALLWAY ISRAELI UNDERGROUND MILITARY CAMP

PATEL and GEVER are walking RACHARD to an interrogation room.
GEVER is the Seren (Captain) of this Israeli Special Forces
team. PATEL is GEVERs Segen (platoon leader).

INT/EXT INTEROGATION ROOM ISRAELI UNDERGROUND MILITARY CAMP

PATEL opens up the door. The room is empty except for a couple
chairs. GEVER leads RACHARD to one of the two chairs. RACHARD
sits up. PATEL closes the door and stands in front of it with
his rifle leaned towards RACHARD. GEVER pulls out his utility
2014 Zach Tretter

knife and cuts RACHARDs zip-tie handcuffs. GEVER sits down in
the chair opposite to RACHARD.

GEVER
Tell me who you are.

RACHARD
Im General Samuel Rachard.
Im American. Those men in
that cell are my troops.

GEVER is surprised at RACHARDs immediate
answer.

GEVER
You gave yourself away.

RACHARD
Youre not Imperials.

GEVER
How would you know that?

RACHARD
I know the Israeli tactics.
Youre Israeli.

GEVER
Im surprised, General. I
was confused when your men
didnt even fight back when
we captured you.

RACHARD smirks.

RACHARD
Can one of you take this
blindfold off?

GEVER looks up at PATEL. PATEL takes the blindfold off.

RACAHRD
Thanks.

GEVER
Why were you and your platoon
behind enemy lines?
2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD
The same reason you are; to
win the war.

GEVER
Did you think you could do it
with only a few men?

RACHARD
We had a plan. It was
compromised before you found
us.

GEVER
Where were you headed?

RACHARD
The Nuclear compound.

GEVER
You know where it is?

RACHARD
Yes.

GEVER
You didnt think you could
possibly get in there did
you?

RACHARD
We had a plan. It was going
to work.

GEVER
But it failed, General.

RACHARD is silent. Hes tired of arguing.

RACHARD
Who are you sir?

GEVER
Im the Captain of this
platoon. They call me Gever.

2014 Zach Tretter

RACHARD
What do you want from us,
Captain. Youve captured us.
Now what?

GEVER sits back in his chair.

GEVER
I have an idea.

RACHARD stares at GEVER intensely.

GEVER (contd)
My country has been overrun,
General.
(beat)
We have nothing left. The
imperials have destroyed
everything. You are the most
valuable thing in the world
to them right now.

RACHARD catches on.

RACHARD
Youre going to turn us in?
Youre our ally, captain?

GEVER looks down then back up at RACAHRD.

GEVER
Times have changed, General.
My people are dying. Giving
you up might save them.

RACHARD
That will never work. My
people are dying too. Our
leader is still alive.
(beat)

Were going to win if we keep
fighting. If you turn us in,
you become the enemy.

GEVER is shocked. He doesnt want to be the enemy, but he also
doesnt want his people to be oppressed.
2014 Zach Tretter

GEVER
Your plans wont work. The
imperials are more powerful.

RACHARD
If you help us out, Captain,
we could destroy their only
weapons.

GEVER
They have over a hundred
nuclear bombs.

RACHARD
(raising his voice)
With the resources they have,
thats a lie. Theyre
ambitious to keep us in fear.
Theyre trying to build a
hundred bombs. They dont
nearly have that amount. If
we destroy that compound,
they have no weapon and we
can decommission all their
other weapons!

GEVER is still stubborn.

GEVER
(raising his voice)
Do you know how guarded that
place is? Its imp-

RACHARD
-Not heavily at all. They
wouldnt waste their time
guarding something thats so
deep in the empire. You
dont understand, Captain.
We have the plan to destroy
them. Were in the perfect
location. Were so close.

GEVER
Im sorry, General. Its my
people before anything else.
2014 Zach Tretter

Especially a suicide crusade.
You only know the outside of
the compound.

RACARD
We have a digital map of the
whole thing.

GEVER looks at PATEL whos surprised. GEVER looks back at
RACAHRD.

GEVER
Its my people, General.
(to Patel)
(in Israeli)
Lets take him back.

PATEL puts another zip-tie around RACHARD wrists. Hes
blindfolded again. Hes still looking at GEVER.

RACHARD
You have a choice, Captain.
You can save your people from
the oppression of the empire
or you can join them. The
world is up to you now.

GEVER stares at RACHARD nervously. He feels the pressure that
ATLAS feels; the weight of the world.

CUT TO

INT/EXT SMITHs HUMVEE WEST KENTUCKY

SMITH, HERMES, and ATLAS are a couple miles from the Mississippi
River border. ATLAS speaks.

ATLAS
Can you turn the radio on,
Smith?

SMITH
Yes, sir. Which channel?

SMITH turns the radio on.

ATLAS
2014 Zach Tretter

Our sides news.

HERMES turns the dial. BRET and JIM from the radio are talking.

RADIO(BRET)
Still no word from President
Alexander Atlas.

RADIO(JIM)
As always Bret. Weve been
told to tell every American
citizen that if you spot the
president, you must turn him
in.

RADIO(BRET)
Radiation levels are
continuously rising on the
east coast where the 6
nuclear missiles hit this
year. American forces are
being devastated in the
middle east.

ATLAS is looking out the window nervously. Hes in the lowest
form of depression. SMITH looks up at him the in the rearview
mirror. He turns down the radio

SMITH
Mr. President, I think
theres something you should
know. It doesnt pertain to
your situation but I think it
would be good for you to know
the imperial condition.

ATLAS
I agree, what is it?

SMITH
When I spoke to my admiral,
he told us that theres only
one functioning nuclear
compound left in the empire.

HERMES
What?
2014 Zach Tretter

ATLAS
How can that be?

SMITH
The Empire is running out of
resources and people they can
trust. The emperor took
control of all the nuclear
armaments and is trying to
speed up construction at
their largest manufacturer.

ATLAS
Did he tell you which
compound?

SMITH
He said it was the largest
one. I know that that ones
in Tehran.

ATLAS
(surprised)
Right.

ATLAS looks at HERMES. HERMES looks back. They are both
thinking of RACHARD.

SMTIH
Was any of that useful?

ATLAS
Not in our situation right
now.
(beat)
But thank you, Smith.

SMITH
Of course.

HERMES
Thank you for all of this,
Smith. We couldnt have
survived this far without
your help.

Its what I signed up for,
its my job.

back of it passes Smiths Humvee.

CUT TO

INT SMITHs CAR

SMITH turns to ATLAS and HERMES.

SMTIH
Were getting close to the
border. This is where we need
to be quick. Were going to
get on a plane. There is a
small base in Arizona that we
can fly to but I dont know
how far it is from your safe
house.

ATLAS
Arizonas a big state.

HERMES
Do you know exactly where the
base is if we looked at a
map?

SMITH
Its not far from Moenkopi.

HERMES looks back at ATLAS.

HERMES
Thats far enough.

SMITH
I can get you one of these
you just need to be able to
keep your heads low and I
2014 Zach Tretter

dont know if they track
these things.

ATLAS
Thats true, we should be
cautious. What do we need to
do before we get on the
plane?

SMITH
Can either of you speak
Russian?

ATLAS
A little.

HERMES
Barely.

SMITH
Leave it up to me. Were
here.

over to the open window.

ID. OFFICER
(in Russian)
Identification?

The IDENTIFICATION OFFICER pulls out a machine to check cards.
SMITH rolls down HERMES window and ATLAS window. He starts
with SMITH then goes to HERMES then to ATLAS. He looks at ATLAS
suspiciously and then goes back into his booth. The gate to the

ATLAS is still staring out the window.

ATLAS
Yes.

SMITH
2014 Zach Tretter

Theres going to be a
movement in the next few
days.

HERMES becomes nervous.

HERMES
What kind of a movement?

SMITH
These troops are all training
for another push east.

ATLAS
Another invasion?

HERMES
How far are they planning to
push this time? Theyve
already made it as far as the
Mississippi.

SMITH
I dont know that. But what
I do know is that its
happing in a couple days.

ATLAS
We have to get the message
out to Sansorros as fast as
possible now.

SMITH
Mr. President, I dont know
exactly whats going on in
the middle east, you dont
have to tell me, but we know
of rebellious movement
happening around there. The
Imperials are aware of the
suspicion around the Nuclear
Compound. If your troops are
still out there, they should
know that this is it. Were
running out of chances now.

2014 Zach Tretter

HERMES
We have less than a week?

SMITH
Thats what its looking
like.

ATLAS is unbelievably nervous in the back seat. HERMES looks
back at ATLAS.

HERMES
Better start on that speech.

CUT TO

EXT IMPERIAL AIRBASE AFTERNOON

SMITH pulls his Humvee up to the entrance to the airbase. He
gets out and talks with one of the officers at the entrance. He
motions to ATLAS and HERMES to get out of the car. They follow.

shuts behind him. He sits across from ATLAS and HERMES.

SMITH
Well be landing in about an
hour.

HERMES
Good.

SMITH
Youre going to want to be
2014 Zach Tretter

very fast in getting to your
safe house though.

ATLAS looks at HERMES and then back at SMITH.

ATLAS
Is there something we should
know about?

SMITH
Its going to looks strange
to my commanding officers
that I havent directly flown
to Mexico City. Its also
going to look strange that
Im leaving two troops there
for no practical reason. Im
sure Ill be able to cover it
up though. Its just that
the empire is really hunting
down on finding spies. In
other words, the sooner you
get away from me, the better.

HERMES
You dont think theyll find
you out, right?

SMITH
I dont think so, but it
would be safe for you guys to
hurry when we arrive.

ATLAS
I agree.

SMITH nods. Hes still looking at ATLAS.

SMITH
Mr. President?

ATLAS
Yes, Smith?

SMITH
What are you planning to say
in your speech?
2014 Zach Tretter

There is a beat.

ATLAS
Hopefully something that will
change the world.

SMITH
Do you mind if I hear what
you have?

HERMES looks at ATLAS.

(smirking)
Of course not.

GEVER is reclining in his seat behind his desk. The room is
only lit by a warm yellow light (like all the other rooms
besides the containment room). PATEL is across from him.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
We have an advantage, Gever.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
We dont know that. We
havent seen the map he says
he has. I dont trust them.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
Why not? You have no reason
to.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
They are way in over their
heads.

PATEL
2014 Zach Tretter

(in Israeli)
Theyve gotten closer to
beating the enemy than we
ever could.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
Weve already made it this
far. Im not going to waste
two hundred of the men Ive
spent this last year
developing on a mission this
risky. That compound is
covered with more troops than
we can imagine.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
Do you know that for certain?
The Americans seem to think
they do.

GEVER is silent.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
They will join us. They are
our allies, sir.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
Youre right, Patel, but
unfortunately we dont have
enough men to complete that
kind of a mission.

PATEL rises from his seat. Hes furious at how stubborn GEVER
is.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
They thought they could with
what they had. We have three
times the amount of men they
have down here!

GEVER rises too but slower; more intensely.
2014 Zach Tretter

GEVER
(in Israeli)
I dont want to fight a
battle that we cant win!

PATEL
(in Israeli)
Youre afraid to die, arent
you?

GEVER
(in Israeli)
I am not.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
People are dying all over our
country! Youre supposed to
make the sacrifice, they
arent. Thats what you
signed up for and that is
definitely what these
Americans signed up for!

GEVER
Youre right.
(beat)
Its our sacrifice.

PATEL
(in Israeli)
Were so close now. This
could be our last chance.

GEVER
(in Israeli)
Thats what frightens me.

SERGEANT ALDEN
Sir?

RACHARD is still. Hes concentrating.

RACHARD
Yes, sergeant?

SERGEANT ALDEN
Do we have a plan sir?

RACHARD
A plan for what?

There is a beat.

SERGEANT ALDEN
To get out of here.

RACHARD
Were not going to try and
escape. These men are our
allies.

SERGEANT ALDEN
Then why arent they helping
us?

RACHARD looks up at SERGEANT ALDEN.

RACHARD
Theyre afraid.

SERGEANT ALDEN
Then we should be patient,
right?

RACHARD
Yes.

SERGEANT ALDEN is still not convinced.

SERGEANT ALDEN
Did you tell them about the

RACHARD
2014 Zach Tretter

Yes.

SERGEANT ALDEN
They still didnt decide to

RACHARD
No.

SERGEANT ALDEN
What do you suppose we do,

HERMES and ATLAS nod as they put their helmets and goggles on.
SMITH still has his hands on the hatch controls.

SMITH asks a militant for directions. ATLAS and HERMES stand
attentively behind him. They are both very nervous.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Do you know where we could
find any all-terrain
vehicles?

MILITANT
(in Russian)
What is your purpose?

SMITH
(in Russian)
Excuse me, comrade?

MILITANT
(in Russian)
Weve been put under strict

In case Im questioned, sir,
what is your purpose?
2014 Zach Tretter

SMITH
(in Russian)
Weve been given orders by
Admiral Skalolski to patrol

anyone either, so for your
own sake, Id suggest you
find someplace where you
dont look suspicious.

MILITANT
(in Russian)
Yes, general. My apologies.

The MILITANT recognizes SMITHs authority and humbly starts to

back at SMITH.

SMITH
(in Russian)
Thank you for the help, carry

The MILITANT salutes.

MILITANT
(in Russian)
Yes, sir.

He leaves. SMITH looks around to see if anyone is around. No one

Is it normal to have this

SMITH knows this is unusual as well.

SMITH
(hesitating)
Yes, I think so, keep quiet.

The PATROL OFFICER approaches the Humvee at

RACHARD is sitting. Hes concentrating on nothing but patience.
The light on the door is obscured again. RACHARD looks up. The
door slides open. PATEL is standing in the doorway with two
guards on either side of him. He walks over to RACHARD.

PATEL
Our captain would like to
speak to you. Come with me.

RACHARD stands. One of the guards comes and zip-ties RACHARDs

The interrogation room door opens. RACHARD is escorted in by a
few guards. He sits in the seat closest to the door. GEVER is
directly across from him. The guards leave and PATEL comes in.
He shuts the door. GEVER motions to PATEL. PATEL cuts
RACHARDs zip-ties. GEVER leans over and speaks.

GEVER
We have been talking.

RACHARD is still. Hes looking GEVER in the
eye. He doesnt want to play any more
games.

GEVER (contd)
My apologies to the way
youve been treated these
past couple of days. We,
here have-

RACHARD
What have you been talking
about, sir?

GEVER
Do you still have the digital
readapt of the compound?

RACHARD
(confused)
2014 Zach Tretter

Yes.

GEVER
How many guards do you think
are surrounding that
compound?

RACHARD
Not enough to stop my troop.

GEVER
Then thats perfect.

RACHARD
What are you going to do with
us, sir, if I may ask?

GEVER looks up at PATEL then back at RACHARD. RACHARD is
unbelievably agitated. GEVER grins.

GEVER
Were reassigning you. I
need you to tell my troops
how were going to destroy
that compound.

RACHARD stands up. PATEL raises his rifle. RACHARD salutes
GEVER.

RACHARD
Welcome back on board.

GEVER looks up at PATEL. PATEL lowers his rifle.

INT/EXT SKALOLSKIs HEADQUARTERS NORTHERN VIRGINIA

SKALOLSKI is looking at a map on his desk. Hes preparing to
move his troops east. An OFFICER comes in.

OFFICER
2014 Zach Tretter

(in Russian)
Admiral Skalolski?

SKALOLSKI doesnt look up from his desk.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Yes?

The trooper walks in a little bit then hesitates.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
You may come in. What is
your purpose?

OFFICER
(in Russian)
Ive been told to deliver to
you a report of General
Geroy.

SKALOLSKI looks up from his desk. He takes a breath.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Proceed.

OFFICER
(in Russian)
He said his mission was to go
to Mexico City.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
That was his mission, why was
there suspicion.

OFFICER
(in Russian)
He stopped in Moenkopi,
Arizona and left his two
troops there to patrol.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
I never authorized that.
2014 Zach Tretter

OFFICER
(in Russian)
He said you gave him an order
to patrol the area outside of
that base. His troops havent
come back.

SKALOLSKI rises from his seat.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
I need to see his track.
That son of a bitch!

He pulls out his communications. He turns
the dial a couple times

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
(on communications)
Tsarve, send over the track
records of General E. Geroy.

SKALOLSKI walks behind his desk looking attentively at the map.
It changes from a map of only the East Coast to a map of the
south-west portion of the United States. SMITHs movement is
highlighted in a bright scarlet line starting from Columbus,
Kentucky and ending in Mexico City. SKALOLSKI double taps the
screen above the map on the Arizona territory. The map flashes
to a zoomed in picture of the Arizona territory. SKALOLSKI keeps
tapping till he gets to a detailed view of the Moenkopi base.
He sees that SMITH left the base to drive to Tonalea and then
back.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Why the hell would he go
here?

He looks up at the OFFICER.

SKALOLSKI (contd)
(to OFFICER)
Come over here, comrade.

The OFFICER walks over next to SKALOLSKI.
2014 Zach Tretter

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Why would he want to leave
his two troops in a desert.

OFFICER
(in Russian)
It would be very hard to find
them. All around the base is
desert.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Geroy is smarter than that.
He wouldnt just leave them
in a small town. I think hes
hiding someone.

OFFICER
(in Russian)
Didnt he inspect the site of
the last Critical Target we
hit.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
(realizing)
He went in the tunnel
himself. He was alone. We
need to check out that
tunnel.

He turns to the OFFICER.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
(a little louder)
Get some troops out there,
inspect that tunnel and send
a report, hurry!

OFFICER
(in Russian)
Yes, Admiral, right away.

2014 Zach Tretter

The OFFICER runs out of SKALOLSKIs Headquarters. SKALOLSKI is

SKALOLSKI taps the screen three times at the

COLONEL LEB
(in Russian)
(static)
Yes, Admiral Skalolski, this
Is Colonel Leb.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
I have a relative location on
the president.

COLONEL LEB
(in Russian)
You said that a few days ago
and you reported nothing,
remember?

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
The troop that responded
fastest was led by an Allie
spy. I need troops and an
airstrike ready to bomb this
ditch.

COLONEL LEB
(in Russian)
Right before the invasion?
We dont have many fully
active planes and weve been
running out of quick air
reinforcements.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
We have more than enough men,
Colonel. We have his position

COLONEL LEB
(in Russian)
Youre right but thats the

of our major compounds have
been deactivated because of
no resources. We only have
one major one left thats in
commission. We need to save
our weapons.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
We have the Presidents
location, Colonel. You can
see for yourself. I was
right before. I know Im
right again.

SKALOLSKI taps some communications buttons and the image flashes
a bit. COLONEL LEB is silent. SKALOLSKI thinks theyre losing
connection.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
Sir?

COLONEL LEB
(in Russian)
Tell me what you need.

SKALOLSKI
(in Russian)
I need a strike team in

CUT TO

INT/EXT OPERATIONS ROOM - ISRAELI UNDERGROUND MILITARY CAMP

RACHARD, SERGEANT ALDEN, PATEL, and GEVER are walking through
the OPERATIONs ROOM towards a map. The compound is
highlighted.

GEVER
(in English)
Weve collected data and
heard rumors that the
2014 Zach Tretter

compound so far is the only
functional one. Our data
supports that. No other
reactor to this day is
electrically or mechanically
active right now except this
one. It seems as if
everything is on this one
compound.

RACHARD
How do you suppose were
going to blow this thing up.

PATEL
(in English)
We were thinking of
overriding the system.

RACHARD
A virus?

PATEL
Weve developed a bug that
will wipe out any control to
their warheads. That means
all control from the Emperor
will be distracted.

RACHARD
Can they be reactivated.

PATEL
Never again. It fries any
connection.

GEVER turns towards RACHARD.

GEVER
(pointing to map)
Does this area look familiar?

RACHARD
Thats the location of the
compound.

GEVER
2014 Zach Tretter

Can you give me the digital
readapt?

RACHARD looks at SERGEANT ALDEN. SERGEANT ALDEN pulls out a
small compact info drive. GEVER takes it and plugs it into a
port under the map. Instantly a 3-D model of the compound opens
with labeled sections.

GEVER
This wont be as hard as I
thought.

RACHARD
We can find our way in
through the roof. The east
side barely has any windows.

PATEL
(pointing at the east
side)
Thats to protect the control
mainframe here.

GEVER
Which is a perfect place to
drop in.

RACHARD
Any reports of our enemies
position, Captain?

GEVER
They are pushing east
tomorrow. From our reports
its very likely they will
use all the force they have
left.

PATEL
They want to destroy the last
group of people who are
rebelling.

GEVER
Which means it will take time
for them to defend when we
2014 Zach Tretter

compromise their resources
and weapons.

RACHARD
(to SERGEANT ALDEN)
Its time for the troops to
meet their allies.

GEVER
Lets move out.

CUT TO

EXT ISRAELI UNDERGROUND MILITARY CAMP

The soldiers are spread around the entrance to the camp. They
are segregated. GEVER, PATEL, SERGEANT ALDEN, and RACHARD come
out of the entrance. GEVER and SERGEANT ALDEN turn on their

GEVER
(on communications)
(in Israeli)
Form up at the mouth.

SERGEANT ALDEN
(on communications)
Form up at the entrance.

The two military nationalities form up but segregated. The two
sets of troops look at one another. RACHARD speaks

RACHARD
Allies, our destination is
the compound.

GEVER repeats RACHARD in Israeli while he is speaking.

RACHARD (contd)
We are compromising their
hardware, resources, and
weapons. This is the final
advantage before our
countries are fully
oppressed. Lets move out
together. Form Up. Mix Up.
Spread Out.

The city is forlorn with a dull, hazy tint in the air. The

CUT TO

SANSORROS, the Mexican President, stands in a large window
overlooking his city. He feels a similar pressure to ATLAS but
in his case, he feels more like a coward. A couple members of
his cabinet are squawking in the back about how to deal with
attaining the Imperial-Mexican border. SANSORROS is ignoring
them. Hes focused on the Allies. A SECRETARY walks in. She
approaches SANSORROS.

SECRETARY
(in Spanish)
Mr. President, someone would
like to see you.

SANORROS
(in Spanish)
Did he make an appointment?

SECRETARY
(in Spanish)
No, he just flew in this
morning.

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
Is he Imperial?

SECRETARY
(in Spanish)
Yes,
(beat)
I guess you could say that.

SANSORROS eyes widen. He turns from the window.

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
Bring him in.
(to his cabinet)
Leave us please.

The secretary walks out of the room. The cabinet stops arguing.
They talk quitter and leave the room looking spitefully at
SANSORROS. He sits down and looks down at the table in front of
him. The door opens again. SMITH is standing in the doorway.

SMITH
(in Spanish)
Mr. President.

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
Smith? Is that you?

SMITH
(in Spanish)
Yes sir, its finally that

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
I can, but it is likely Ill
be questioned and searched
again.

SMITH
(in Spanish)
How come they havent
arrested you?

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
Theyre convinced theyll
win. The Imperials think the
resistance is pathetic,
mainly, its because its
pathetic. Weve lost so many
men over the year.

SMITH
(in Spanish)
He knows how to save us. He
needs our friends too. Do
you know how to get in
contact with

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
Yes, I can do that.

SMITH
(in Spanish)
Good. Hes sending it to you
first. He trusts you; he
needs you to send it. He
also wanted to you to have
this.

2014 Zach Tretter

SMITH pulls out a copy of the status report
of the Empire by reporters from the Empire.

SMITH
(in Spanish)
Theyre losing men, and
theyre about to push east.
We can stop them.

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
I will send it when I get it.

SMITH
(in Spanish)
Thank you, Mr. President. We
now have a chance.

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
I hope so my friend.

SMITH
(in Spanish)
I will hopefully see you

SANSORROS
Thank you for your dedication
and most importantly, your

SANSORROS
(in Spanish)
My friends, we have a

are unable to win the war on
our own, this plan needs to
be sent out to every Allied
