The Main Image- The main image

used is the singer Dizzee Rascal. This

is because the edition of the
magazine is based on him. He is
wearing red and black which are the
same colours as the magazines logo
which creates a sense of continuity
and shows house-style. By using an
over the shoulder shot, it creates a
mischievous atmosphere which links
to the genre of rock, which the
magazine is. He is in the middle of
the page which shows there is no
specific grid layout however it does
show professionalism as it looks
good.
Column Width and Positioning- The column
width for the article is equal which shows
uniformity. They are all almost the same length and
look aesthetically pleasing.
Font and type size- The font used is consistent throughout
which shows houses style has been used. A drop cap has been
used to identify and differentiate between the main
heading for the article and the subheading. The main
heading is in a much bigger font so it stands out more.
Use of Space- The space for this double page
spread has been used wisely in my opinion. This is
because one whole side has been used for the main
image and on the other side; the main heading
takes up one half of the page. This means that only
half a page has been left for the article so it doesnt
look like much writing which would appeal to the
target audience, teenagers who prefer not to read
huge amounts of text in a magazine.
Branding Magazines use branding
to get more publicity. This is because
the use famous people, for example
Kate Moss, so they get more readers.
Using logos is also another way of
branding as more people recognise
the logo and buy the magazine.
Background- The background behind
Dizzee Rascal is messy and colourful
however he still stands out because of
the bright jacket. The background
behind the text is duller and contrasts a
lot as it is black and white and the other
background is coloured.
By-line- A by-line is used in a
newspaper to name the writer of the
article.
