Acid rain is produced when fossil fuels burn

chemicals called sulphur and nitrogen are

released into the air. Then, they mix with the
water in the air and creates rain, snow and
more. After the rain is transformed into
different chemicals called sulphur dioxide
and nitrogen oxides.
Acid Rain effects the environment in various ways
and can be very toxic to animal species under the
sea. It mostly effects lakes, rivers and streams by
making them more acidic causing an unhospitable
environment for some species.
Acid rain doesnt just affect aquatic life but

What have
organisations done
to help reduce Acid
Rain?
Because of the power
plants, they give off a
lot of nitrogen oxide
and sulphur dioxide,
so the EPA Acid Rain
program created an
organisation thats
stops powerplants
from creating acid
rain. They do so by
reducing the amount
