Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am – 5pm

Tuesday 9am – 8.30pm

Thursday 10am – 5pm

Also open one Saturday in the month 10am - 4pm. This is


generally the second Saturday unless this falls on the weekend
of a public holiday. Please confirm this by reference to our
website, telephone or email.

 You do not need to make an appointment to use either original material or


microform copies although at busy times you may have to wait to use a
microfilm or a microfiche viewer

 You will need a reader’s ticket as the Lancashire Record Office is a


member of the County Archive Research Network (CARN). This can be
obtained, free of charge, from any of the participating offices on
production of some official form of identification which includes, name,
current address and signature (eg: driving licence or electricity bill and
bankers card). Readers tickets cannot be issued by post

 We ask you to use pencils only in the Searchroom. Please bring one with
you.

 Lockers are now in use in the Record Office. Please bring £1 coin.

 Access and parking is provided for disabled users

 A hot drinks machine and eating area is available for the use of visitors
