Introduction

The 1920s was a time where people care about wealth and status. The great Gatsby
inspires this and is referred to as the American Dream. While some can achieve their dreams
others cannot and their American dream is destroyed and the people end up poor. My focus of
crime in the 1920s relates to the American Dream because of how crime rises and people who
do commit these crimes are able to achieve the American Dream.
