To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Mrs. Christina Georgopoulos. I had the opportunity to mentor Christina during her student teaching experience in my kindergarten classroom at Prairie Trail Elementary in Ankeny, Iowa. During her time in my classroom she has proven herself an advocate for her students. Christina strives for excellence in all that she does. This letter highlights some of Christinas exemplary skills that are reflected in her daily professional practice. During her time at Prairie Trail, Christina had immediate rapport with the students and staff members in our building. She was eager to assume a teaching role within the classroom and was well prepared to do so. Christina strived to enhance both the academic and socialemotional skills of her students. She wrote thorough lesson plans that were differentiated to meet the needs of all learners, implemented Positive Behavior Intervention Supports in our classroom and throughout the building, collaborated in Professional Learning Communities, conducted reading groups and running records and implemented strong classroom management skills that were firm, but fair. Christina had excellent communication skills and was very pleasant to work with. She always came in with a smile and had a very positive attitude. Christina was very well trained academically and collaborated effectively to share these ideas. For instance, Christina researched ways to deepen the students understanding in the area of reading comprehension. She found books and created lessons to teach the kids about questioning when they are reading and inspired them to want to know more as learners. She planted a seed for the students to become a lifelong learner and take responsibility for their own learning. In addition, her teaching style was flexible, organized and passionate. Every now and then an educator comes around who truly makes a difference with children. Christina is one of those people. Christina would be a tremendous asset to her next place of employment and has my highest recommendation. If you have any further questions with regard to her background or qualifications, please do not hesitate to call me 515-250-1624. Sincerely,
Mrs. Jennifer Balvanz
