Some of these nodes are already accessible via the main network structure.
Additional links to nodes not yet connected are necessary in the western part (Sopron,

Zalaegerszeg, and Nagykanizsa) and, if Pecs is connected via Szekesfehervar, we need to

connect one node south of Budapest (Dunaujvaros). This further supports the realization
of a direct connection with Pecs.
In the northern part an additional link connects Budapest to Salgotarjan and Ozd (via Vac).
In the eastern part of the country the international connection to Oradea goes via Cegled
and Szolnok. Bekescsaba is connected to Kecskemet.
In addition, we need to establish a few shortcuts:
South of Budapest: Gyor-Szekesfehervar- Dunaujvaros-Kecskemet
Along the southeast border: Pecs-Szeged-Hodmezovasarhely-Bekescsaba-Debrecen
Eger-Debrecen
The final result of this design step (the ideal national network) is presented in Figure
2.15.
Step 4: Analysis of (Comparison with) Existing Road Network (Including Roads under
Construction). At present four motorway corridors are under construction (all starting in
Budapest):

Direction west: Gyor-Vienna and Gyor-Bratislava

Direction northeast: Eger-Miskolc-Nyregyhaza-Debrecen
