Strategy Name: Word Wall

Concept # 9

Brief Description (in your own words)

A word wall is a display of vocabulary words for a unit or topic. They are often
displayed on a wall or board in the classroom before during or after a unit. Students
can use the word wall to make connections to concepts being taught to them, and to
connect to students prior information.
How you plan to use this strategy in your Practicum, Internship, Student Teaching,
or in your own classroom
In my class I plan on having a word wall for each unit that is in a place that students
can see. I will have the words up for the duration of the unit, and take them down
prior to a test or exam.
