Octobeard

Enbridge employees are a unique breed. Since I started three years ago, I have never
been more humbled by such a large group of peoples genuine concern for the
community in which they live inIt is simply the culture within the walls. Its
beautiful. Adam Bloomer, Co-Founder, Novembeard 2013/Octobeard 2014

After realizing that Movember does not permit participants to grow a beard, Enbridge employees Adam
Bloomer and Bryan Albert decided to create their own fundraising campaign that would support a local
charity. Novembeard, which is now called Octobeard, was created.
Committing to the campaign, Adam and Bryan tapped into the generosity of their peers, set a goal of
raising $600, and begun to seek out a beneficiary.
After much deliberation, Adam and Bryan chose the Inn. Adam says, I cannot think of a better parallel
between an organization that looks to protect [families] from being exposed to the cold street and
beard which is designed to do the same. It was a natural fit.
The support received from Adam and Bryans initial ask to immediate team members was humbling.
That support quickly grew, and more than a dozen guys participated. The $600 goal was exceeded six
fold. After the month was over, Inn from the Cold received a generous $3,725 donation. With this
donation, we were able to provide 1440 hot meals for our families.
The Inn is very pleased to be the charity of choice for Octobeard. The hope is that more beards will be
grown, more funds will be raised, and more children and their families fed.
