THE MISSION

The human being is the chef d'oeuvre of creation. Yet the human race suffers
from the virus of attachment and aversion, greed and envy, lust and jealousy and
a host of other baneful emotions. The virus has destroyed the human intellect.

The problem that humanity faces today is the failure to distinguish the intellect
from intelligence. Educational institutions focus on providing sheer knowledge,
intelligence with no plan or program to develop the intellect. Any amount of
intelligence gained cannot per se build your intellect. The world today is all
intelligence, no intellect. This has led to grievous consequences. And the world is
inflicted with vandalism, militancy and terrorism. The need of the hour is to
recognise this grave situation to build the intellect.

The intellect is the faculty to think, to reason, to judge, to decide on the pros and
cons of life. You will have to develop your intellect all by yourself. No external
agencies can achieve that for you. You can build your intellect by using your
ability to think independently and to question everything you meet in life. Do not
accept anything which does not admit logic or reason. The constant exercise of
questioning all through your life would sharpen your intellect.

When your intellect becomes powerful you will be able to handle all your official,
social and domestic problems with ease. Vedanta, the ancient philosophy of
India, has the complete know-how to develop the intellect and restore the dignity
and prestige of the human race. Above all, it leads one to the ultimate goal of
Self-Realisation.

Vedanta Cultural Foundation is dedicated to the study, research and

dissemination of Vedanta through public lectures and classes, residential
courses and seminars.
Living Wisdom
Swami Parthasarathy, popularly known as Swamiji, is a pre-eminent philosopher. In a life of
selfless service over six decades, Swamiji’s exceptional contribution has been the translation
of subtle philosophical themes into a practical technique of living. Swamiji's resolve has
crystalized into four notable avenues as service to humanity:

CORPORATE RESOURCE
His principles of self-management are based on timless
philosophical truths relating to the individual and the
world. Swamiji’s ability to examine and simplify the
complexities of life has attracted leaders from various
fields. Corporations worldwide are learning and
practising management formula’s derived from his research.

WRITINGS
Having written eight books Swamiji has provided the
material for deeper study and personal reflection. His
seminal work “The Eternities: Vednata Treatise” in its
14th edition has been extolled as the ‘Book of the Planet’.
The latest book “The Fall of the Human Intellect” has
proved a sensation with the entire first edition sold out in
six weeks. Two of the earlier books have earned
best-selling status and the latest should be a certainty.

“Intelligence helps you make a living.

An intellect a life.”

PUBLIC DISCOURSES
Ensuring everyone has access to this knowledge Swamiji
has been conducting public lectures for over fifty years
by addressing audiences worldwide, people from various
backgrounds are given an opportunity to learn these
universal truths.

VEDANTA ACADEMY
Swamiji founded the Vedanta Academy in 1988.
Situated in the Malavli hills near Mumbai, this world-
class institution presently has students from over ten
countries engaged in the three-year residential course
on Vedanta. The Academy has received government
recognition as an Institute of Higher Learning as well
as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO)

THE CRICKETER
Swamiji has represented Madras State and London
College in cricket. His interest in the game continues
today not as a mere spectator but as a player for his
Academy cricket team .

He is the leading light of the team, opening batsman

and highest wicket-taker season after season. He
holds the bowling record with a haul of six wickets. In
the 2006 - 2007 season Swamiji captured 44 wickets at
an average of 18.34 in 26 matches at a strike rate of
15.95 balls per wicket.

AGEING A MYTH
Amazingly at 83 years, Swamiji follows a daily
schedule of yoga and jogging. As an accomplished
sportsman, he still wins most man of the match awards
for his Academy cricket team competing against
players less than a third his age. Not to mention his
awards for outstanding fielding!

Above all, at 6 feet he has maintained a 32 inch

waistline, 67 kilos weight and ideal blood pressure
and sugar levels for the past 63 years!

“It’s the absence of worry and anxiety that has

kept me this way. Anyone who follows this will
find that ageing is a myth.”

SWAMIJI PROFILED
Swamiji's stature and achievement has been profiled
in four books:

101 Great Indians who have made India proud in

the last century

101 Great Indian Authors and Poets

101 Great Indian Saints

The Mind of the Guru, forewarded by H. H. The Dalai

Lama, as one of the twenty eminent gurus of the world.
