8.1 Analyze formulate, and advocate for policies and advance social wellbeing.
As a future social worker and as an intern in a hospital, it will be obligated to inform
clients/patients about policies involving their services/care and provide them with
information and always provide them with choices in regards to their services/care.

8.2 Collaborate with colleagues and clients for effective policy action.
As a social work intern in a medical environment, I have access to peoples confidential
health information and it is my obligation to uphold HIPPA.

During morning rounds, collaborate with the charge nurse, physical therapy, and my
supervisor to determine anticipated date of discharge for my patients.

Speak with doctors, nurses, and PAs to ensure the patient will receive/have access to
appropriate services prior to discharge.
