The Terms Of A Good Assessment Tool

1. Validity ( validity)
Validity ( validity) is an assessment tool to measure the accuracy rate of success in achieving the learning objectives
. The validity of an assessment tool can be viewed from four sides , namely ( a) the validity of the content (content
validation ) , ( b ) the validity of the construction ( construction validity) , ( c ) the validity of the existing (
concurrent validity) , and ( d ) the validity of the prediction ( prediction validity) ( Arikunto , 1990) . The
determination of the validity of an assessment tool is also influenced by the scoring , student response factor , and
factor their administration .

2. Countability (reliability )
Reliability (reliability ) is usually referred to the regularity or consistency . The reliability of an assessment tool is
important to note . Factors affecting the reliability of an assessment tool : ( 1 ) if the assessment tool provided to
students is too easy , too difficult , or unclear , it will likely find that it is not reliable , ( 2 ) if the student participants
have characteristics that assessment too diverse , it is also likely that it is not reliable , ( 3 ) if a standard assessment
used by teachers in each of the implementation of the assessment is not uniform , then the resulting score was not
reliable , ( 4 ) if the number of questions used to measure the ability of students is too small, then it is likely that it is
not reliable. The reason , the amount of matter that is available is not able to capture the full knowledge of the
students .
3. Practicality
Practicality in preparing an assessment tool is important to note . Practical assessment tool that can help teachers to
prepare , use , and interpret the results. Practicality is influenced by a number of factors , namely scoring , ease of
administering , timing , and form of assessment tools .
