INTRODUCTION

Eeeeeek Eek the bat screams while a huge Owl is following


it to munch it up for lunch. While the bat tries to protect
itself, a funny noise comes up eke eke eke. Finally the Owl
gets slower because the noise is making it dizzy. But then
the owl keeps up and almost bit the bat in the tail. Then the
noise comes up again eke eke eke. Then a giant male bat
called a drake appears and the bat gets a shock. It needs a
rest now. THE BAT IS SAVED. Read on to find more about a

WHAT ARE BATS?


Bats are very smart animals. Bats are not insect, they are
mammals. There are over 1,000 species of bats so its almost
impossible to name all even for scientist. Bats are usually
black to hide in dark places. There is just one specie that is
BROWN. The brown bat. The brown bat is to hide in trees or
other brown dark places.




HOW DO BATS PROTECT THEMSELVES?


Bats protect theirselfs by rapping their wings around them


and that keeps them warm from storms and ice. Bats protect
their self from enemies by making loud noise and hiding in a
ditch. Thats why they have a dark color do protect them self.
When an enemy is near to find the bat, the bat is going to

make 950 sounds per second, that will make the enemy
dizzy.

HOW DO BATS PROTECT THEIR BABIES?



When a new baby newborn is born, the mother wraps its
baby around its wings and cares for the new born for 6
month. After that the mother puts the baby in a colonie. The
colonie contains many other babies.


COLONIE MEANING: A KIND OF KINDERGARTEN FOR BATS

Bats can eat up to 900 insects an hour, and that means
7,884,000 insects per year. Bats can make more than 950
sounds per second. People think bats are blind but their not,
thats just an old story.
