3 Week Progress Report

I would like to report to you the progress I have made in the last three weeks at BioEng
Venture Capital Corporation.
In the past three weeks, the entire group of interns from BioEng Venture Capital
Corporation has met 6 times:

August 20 Listened to presentation of project topics and brainstormed

potential ideas

August 25 Decided upon Charleston project and discussed potential goals

August 27 Further discussed paths to take with different projects in small
groups. Read sustainable sites rating requirements.
September 1 Presentation on anaerobic digestion on CU campus and
Charleston project work. LID research.
September 3 Presentation on CU stormwater.

Outside of class in the last three weeks, our group of four interns, Tyler, Daniel, Austin, and
myself have 2 times:
September 3 - Went to library to look at topographic maps of Clemson and
considered potential hydrological projects.
September 4 Discussion of the potential need to change to stormwater
management in Clemson due to lack of communication from firm in
Charleston
In addition to the work done together as a group we have been working individually on
aspects of the project, especially doing literature reviews and becoming familiar with the
work to be done. I have spent the following days working on our project individually:
August 31 familiarized myself with the sustainable sites V2 rating system
September 2 Researched constructed wetlands
On September 4 I considered switching over to be part of the FloraLife team and began
contributing to their proposal. I simply added a section to their literature review on roof
material with respect to rainwater harvesting to their proposal before learning that the
Robinson Engineering Firm had finally responded and that the Charleston stormwater project
could still be executed. Upon learning this I re-joined the Tyler, Daniel, and Austin on the
Charleston stormwater team.
