    Citrix Receiver users were unable to receive plug-in updates and received an error message that "Plug-in updates are disabled". This was caused by the computer having the Terminal Server role or a Microsoft Server Edition installed. To resolve it, the Receiver program needed to be run with the parameter "-allowadminTSupdates" added, then Receiver reopened to allow the updates.

    Symptoms
    You are unable to receive plug-in updates from Merchandising Server and receive the following message in the Preferences of Citrix Receiver:
    Plug-in updates are disabled.

    Cause
    The computer has the Terminal Server role or a Microsoft Server Edition installed.
    Resolution
    1.

    Adjust the receiver program shortcut or executable to run with the following parameter:
    -allowadminTSupdates

    2.

    Close and reopen Receiver. Updates are now allowed.
