1. Skim through the text and identify at least 10 words/terms you are not
familiar with and predict what you think they may mean.
2. Look through the chapter making sure to pay attention to titles and subtitles.
Using the notecards I gave you at the beginning of class and think of
whatever is on the back of your card that relates to the chapter.

to me because This will help the students gain aspect on why it is they had
to read the article and make a connection with it to their personal lives which
makes it more meaningful.
2. The students will pair the reading like they do with wine and meals in a fine
restaurant. They will do this by clump a couple paragraphs together and
giving them a title based on the contents of the paragraphs.
