JOB DESCRIPTION:

The primary role of the Instructional Tech Coach (ITC) is to positively impact student
achievement by participating in continuous school improvement efforts and providing
training and support to teachers on technology integration. The efforts are intended to
support teachers as they improve their ability to integrate technology into classroom
instruction and provide targeted instruction and interventions for students. The ITC
provides leadership for teachers by planning, collaborating, organizing, mentoring and
facilitating change to improve the instructional program. In addition, the Instructional
Tech Coach assists in identifying, acquiring, and maintaining instructional technology
resources for teachers aligned with the implementation of the District- and school-level
technology plans.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participates in all required coaching and technology integration professional


development
Facilitates school participation in technology activities and serves as the school
contact for addressing instructional technology issues
Acquires the knowledge, technology skills, and instructional strategies necessary to
effectively impact the instructional practices of the teachers coached by the ITC
Remains knowledgeable about current and past research in technology integration and
pedagogies relevant to the coaching
Identifies teaching and learning needs by analyzing student data, and organizing and
implementing problem-solving actions with teachers
Collaborates with teachers and other instructional staff to develop curriculum materials
and specific lesson plans that integrate technologyExplicitly models the integration of
technology in all curriculum areasConducts staff development in the areas of
technology integration

Facilitates school-based high quality professional development, working with teachers


(in teams or individually) to refine their knowledge and skills. Professional development
could include, but not be limited to:
Classroom coaching, observing, and modeling of effective instructional strategies
Guiding the analysis of student work by collaboration teams
Developing lesson plans with teachers based on student needs, supporting data
analysis
The integration of technology in classroom instruction and supplemental learning
opportunities for at-risk students
Works with the school leadership team to provide access to technology resources,
help select resources compatible with the school technology infrastructure, and serves
as the technology facilitator at point of need
Leads in the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the instructional technology
program
Serves as a member of the school and district leadership teams
Works flexible hours (some after school hours) to facilitate staff training, and other
duties as assigned from the school and/or district level

Prepares and submits accurate reports as required


Carries out non-instructional duties as assigned and/or as needed to ensure student
safety

REQUIRED
EXPERIENCE:

Exceptional Interpersonal Skills


Experience in writing curriculum and integrated learning units
Experience with Data Gathering and Analysis
Experience in facilitating committees, teams and groups
Sensitivity to the multi-cultural environment and knowledge of bilingual education
