Noviembre 3 2005, Monterrey Mxico

Get Eagle!
The Eagles will be tonight at 21:00 in the Monterrey Arena
Monterrey, Mxico (3 november 2005).- After an 11 days break on the Tour, The Eagles promise to
fly high tonight in Mountains City.
Timothy B. Schmit, Bass player of the Band since 1978, assured on telephone interview from his
Home in Los Angeles they will offer to local regios an up to standards Concert such of those they
made in the United States along the Farewell I Tour, and pretty similar to the one recorded last year
in Melbourne, Australia.
They are going to see our normal show, wich is composed of the majority of the big hits of the
Eagles", indicated the bassist.
"We dont have an Opener Band because our show is a full and long one".
Eagles, formed by Schmit, the singer and drummer Don Henley, and the guitarists Glenn Frey and
Joe Walsh, will write this night a page in the history of the rock in the city as they perform in the
Monterrey Arena at 21:00 hours, only remaining some localities for the Concert.
The band already has all in the City "to fly" by a good while, according to Henley.
The Concert may last 3 hours 20 minutes. There are songs of the band and some of the phase of
solos of each one", commented Henley in telephone conference since his s house in Dallas Texas.
Bass player Timothy B. Schmit also spoke about Mexico and even revealed that by his veins runs
Mexican blood, since his Dad last name was Gonzlez.
He was adopted (his father) by the family Schmit when he was 5 years old. His true last name
before adopting that of Schmit was Gonzlez. His biological mother was of Mexico. And his father of
Chile. But I never knew them (to the grandfathers).
"I grew knowing as grandfathers to the Schmits and in reality I know very little of my biological
grandfathers", explained the musician, who was born in Oakland and grew in Sacramento, California.
With just 58 years age this October 30th. and a prolific contribution with icons as Elton John, Crosby,
Stills & Nash, Toto and Steely Dan, the member of Eagles assured he likes the Mariachis music from
Mxico.
I love the music of Mariachi musicians. In fact I have a pair of Guitarrones. And besides I am from
Los Angeles, and here the majority of the Radio Stations are in Spanish. Altough cannot tell that he is
very familiarized (with the Mexican music). I know more names than another things, I know Luis
Miguel", declared.
Only in an occasion stepped Aztec lands.

"The group never touched in Mexico and me personally I never was there. Once I crossed the border
to Jurez but I return immediately. I realize that was not a great example of Mexican culture. I have
many desires to go", mentioned.
To whom would be delighted to have it in some disk would be guitarist of Jalisco, Mxico, Carlos
Santana. "If Carlos calls me Ill say yes in that very instant", assured.
The bassist replaced Randy Meisner and participated in the production of the album The Long Run in
1979. In this disk printed its thin voice in the theme "I Can' t Tell You Why", inspired in a sentimental
relation that for now, said, "does not remember".
On his income in the group and the recording of this album, the musician related that the other
members asked him to do some original contribution.
Coincidentally, he had a fragment of a song and he showed to Henley and Frey, who helped him to
finish what eventually became a big success.
Sadly, a year later the Band broke and took a rest of 14 years.
About the "Hotel California" theme, that in 1976 was recorded in the history as a hymn of the band,
the bassist assured that is stupendous to form part of a group that has in history a so famous theme
in the world. "It is really amazing", summarized.
Which it is the one question that Media do more to Eagles?
"Always they ask us whats behind the Hotel California lyrics recalled Schmit, "but to me does not
correspond to respond because I entered to the band after this song was done".
The same Henley clarifies the true origin of this theme, that does not speak of a particular Hotel
either of satanism, as has been said.
"The Anton LaVey thing (founder of some black Church), who said that is a satanic theme and all
those things, is not true, we never knew him and we never had a relation with him", says Henley.
"The reality of this song, since my point of view, is that speaks of the loss of the innocence, of the
excesses in the culture of the United States, is on the battle between the good and kindness and the
evil, among the spiritual nature of the man and the animal instincts".
