Welcome to Lakeside
On behalf of the British Schools Gymnastics & the North of England Trampoline Technical Committee
we welcome you to Lakeside Centre for this years Regional Schools Championships. We hope you have
a successful and an enjoyable day.
A special thanks to Andrew Revell & AAA TC, all the officials and helpers who have given up their
time to help make the competition a success.
Notes for Team Managers and Competitors

Check In
On arrival please check in your competitors and inform the check in clerk of any
withdrawals.
Warm Ups
All warm-ups will be allocated a period of time
Jewellery
NO Jewellery or Friendship Bracelets to be worn when Competing or Warming Up
Spotters
All competitors must have FOUR spotters who must be wearing the correct attire,
i.e. tracksuit, trainers, NO jewellery or Friendship Bracelets.
Routines
Each Event will consist of a Set routine and a Voluntary routine.

There are no finals in todays competition.
Protests
Coaches or Team Managers may approach the Chair of the Panel in a polite manner.
The decision of the Chair of the Panel is final.
Awards
The first FIVE individuals and first THREE teams in each age group will be
presented with awards.
Presentations
Shortly after the completion of each event a presentation will take place at the
Trophy Table, will competitors be available in tracksuit or competition attire
for their presentation.
Trampolines
All Trampolines have 6x6 or 6x4 Beds
Tariff Limit
There is a Tariff Limit of 1.5 in all age groups for the Novice Event
A Tariff Limit of 4.5 for all age groups in the Intermediate Event
And 8.0 in all age groups for the Open Competition.
Timings
There is a big entry for this years championships and to ensure that we finish on time
competitors must be ready to compete when called.
The Organisers reserve the right to run events up to 60 minutes early.
Zonal
Schools
The first TWO teams in each age group and the first THREE Individuals will qualify
to compete in the ZONAL SCHOOLS FINALS. To be held in Northern Ireland on
January 31st 2015
Will Schools with qualifiers please ensure they obtain an entry form for the ZONAL
SCHOOLS from the Officials at the Trophy Table.
NO Flash photography during the competition ..
Please note that the organisers, British Schools Gymnastics The NETTC or the Lakeside
Centre cannot be held responsible for loss of property or accidental injury to anyone
participating in this event, howsoever caused.

SCORING
There are FIVE form Judges and a Superior Judge. Each form judge will mark the routine out of 10
marks.
The judge can deduct up to 0.5 from each move for form.
This deduction depends upon how well or badly the move is executed. The judges deductions are then
added up and taken from 10 marks giving the form score.
Out of the 5 judges the highest and lowest scores are ignored and the 3 middle scores are added together
for a fair form score.
Each competitor will execute one compulsory routine (Set) and one voluntary routine (Vol). In the
Compulsory they must perform the prescribed moves in the sequence outlined. If they deviate the routine
is terminated. In the voluntary routine, they perform 10 moves of their own choice.
Each move has a tariff value and the tariff is added to the form score. Obviously the more complex the
move the greater the tariff value.
There are NO FINALS in todays Competition.

Teams consist of 3 or 4 competitors of the same gender, age group, Event & School.
The best THREE SET scores are added to the best THREE VOL Scores to give the Team total.

Information
PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS POLICY
Use of Video or Close Range Photography
British Gymnastics Child Protection Policy requires that the name and address of any spectator who
wishes to use a camera to video, or take photographs to record the activities at a competition or festival,
be registered.
In line with this requirement, the promoters of this event require that any person wishing to engage in any
videoing, or photography should have registered their details with staff at the spectator entry desk before
carrying out any such photography. Proof of identity will be required. An accreditation identity sticker
must be worn at the event at all times.
The organiser reserves the right to decline entry to this event to any person with a camera who has not
registered with the organiser. Unregistered persons found to be using a camera will be asked to leave the
arena and surrender any film relating to the event.
If you are concerned about any photography taking place at this event, please contact the promoter or the
organiser who will be pleased to discuss the matter with you.
