If we give our entrepreneurs the respect, regard, motivation and chance of decision making they
deserve, they can do miracles for this country and its people

Author Point Of View:

Nasir Jamal who is the author of this article trying to show his point of view about the importance of
entrepreneurs in Pakistan.
Author says that it is very important for our economy that entrepreneurs create lot of jobs, pay taxes
to the country that run the states. The author giving the example of Mr. Ramzan Sheikh Owner of
Mainland Group of companies and share his experiences regarding to entrepreneur. Mr. Sheikh said
in this article that adversity has been his best teacher M RAMZAN Sheikh likes new challenges in
life and business. The gritty entrepreneur in him always stays open to opportunity and isnt afraid to
explore, experiment and grow. The ways is not so easy as he faced so many problems and
challenges even his family sometimes not supported him for his new venture he giving the example
of a Royal plam Golf and country club in Lahore where he faced much difficulties to make it he faced
problems from private sectors, NAB, FIA which make hurdle for him but a sports man sprit and a
internal cricketer forced him to make this club even these problems and finally he succeeded to

make the club. Author says that Mr. Ramzan have family business of construction and textile and
when he joined his family business he go for something new .he make his construction company one
of the largest in Pakistan . He introduced a new technology, techniques in the construction sector
with the help of JV between local and international firms. Then he invested in the entertainment and
leisure industry which is growing industry in Pakistan, he earns 20 Million Dollar approximately per
year.
Author mention that we are a very resilient people. Can you imagine that we had built a large
industrial and financial base literally from nothing in 20 years after independence? We can do it
again. For that, we will have to ensure policy consistency, revamp the tax system, identify new areas
of high growth potential, train human resource and rebuild the Brand Pakistan. If we give our
entrepreneurs the respect they deserve, they can do miracles for this country and its people.
As mentioned by the author; Ramzan said that if we give the respect to our entrepreneurs they do
miracles of our country.

Answer:

Shortcomings in this article are as follows:

1. The selection of Ramzan Sheikh as an example of entrepreneur is totally wrong because he
belongs to a business giant family and has very strong business background. Ramzan Sheikh
just diversified from his family business.
2. The author did not mention any reasons that why people are afraid and discouraged of
entrepreneurship.
3. There is no example of any country which support entrepreneur friendly environment,
countries with maximum number of entrepreneurs and why?
4. Policies, rules and regulations which create hurdles and discourage people are not
mentioned in this article.
5. There are so many entrepreneurship opportunities in Pakistan. The author didn't mention
any opportunity and not even gave any ideas for starting any venture.
6. The author only mentioned the success rate of entrepreneurship; however he didn't discuss
any risks and problems in entrepreneurship.

Following are some Suggestions to improve the article:

1. The author should've given example of any self made entrepreneur who started from
Zero like the owner of Savour Foods or Malik Riaz the owner of Bahria Town housing
society. This is more motivating for the readers.

2. The author should've mentioned the reasons why people refrain from entrepreneurship
and why people are discourage and afraid from it.
3. Author should've mentioned the countries that support entrepreneurship, the easily
policies they have for entrepreneurs to make their economy flourish. America is an
example of it.
4. The author should've talked about the policies and rules that make hurdles in the path
of common person, and should've mentioned easy and lawful procedures to overcome
them.
5. A research on available opportunities for entrepreneurs should've been there in this
article for clearer picture and motivation of people.
