Task 4B

1. The sub-genre of the magazine that I will make is rock music. I will base it around the
music magazine Kerrang. I will use techniques and ideas from Kerrang for my
magazine.
The genre of this magazine is
dance music and electronic music
which is what I will base my
magazine around. This is because I
feel like I know a lot about the
genre and can easily recreate
something similar. Kerrang also
currently runs many other media
platforms such as, Kerrang! TV,
radio, rock chart and a yearly
reader voted awards meaning
that they are able to get to a
huge viewership through many
different mediums.

. Bauer Media Group

is one of Europes biggest privately owned
publishing companies and produce media for TV, magazine,
radio and online platforms. Bauer Media who focus
specifically on radio and magazines joined the group in 2008.
Therefore, because of this they may be an ideal publisher for
a new music magazine as they have an already large and
established readership, and focused business ideas around
music and its advertisement. However, they currently have
three successful music magazines in publication, so could be
wary of another that may divert customers from current
issues.
